Job Summary

Demonstrates a keen understanding of business operations and develops strategic goals to ensure retail systems, procedures, and departments drive profitable growth. Guides and promotes employee development. Ensures satisfactory relationships with internal and external customers.

Essential Job Duties

Leads and supervises District Managers in the retail store operations and oversight of Store Managers.

Leads and supervises E-Commerce Manager and Floating Store Managers.

Provides direct oversight of Donated Goods Retail / E-Commerce operations.

Promotes a spirit of empowerment for retail store management.

Assists in developing and implementing annual budgets and business goals.

Ensures consistency in marketing and branding throughout retail stores.

Champions and builds the LLGI brand and promotes a spirit of empowerment for retail leadership.

Identifies and implements business solutions for retail locations that need specific support.

Collaborates with the Retail Management team to develop and implement short- and long-range plans that support sustainable growth.

Analyzes sales reports and business results and takes appropriate action to capitalize on strengths and deficiencies of product and market; monitors the sales history of various products to maximize efficiency and sales.

Works in collaboration with the Retail Management team to establish monthly budgets for retail operations.

Identifies and pursues new business opportunities to drive growth and expand market presence.

Develops and executes strategic plans to increase sales, market share, and profitability.

Conducts market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and potential partnerships.

Collaborates with marketing to create and implement promotional campaigns and strategies.

Monitors and analyzes business performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.

Works in collaboration with retail leadership to maintain staffing levels and staffing budgets for stores.

Provides onsite guidance, leadership and people management for all retail stores and provides updates to the Chief Operating Officer.

Consolidates projected revenues and expenses from individual budgets; monitors department revenues and expenses; investigates variances; implements a plan of action.

Serves as the subject matter expert on retail sales floor issues surrounding merchandising, impulse buys, new goods purchases, product display and store layout.

Establishes relationships with vendors; purchases new goods and seasonal inventory.

Recruits, trains, evaluates, and disciplines staff, documents and communicates performance and behavioral concerns to the Human Resources department; builds a bench of future retail leaders.

Effectively manages time to provide leadership and support to direct reports.

Provides direction to District Managers and Store Managers to facilitate team building and the completion of retail operations goals.

Ensures established policies and procedures are followed.

Hires, coaches, trains, develops and disciplines staff.

Partners with Retail Leadership and Human Resources staff on human resources issues.

Champions the implementation of change and ensures buy-in.

Drives execution to ensure that strategic priorities yield measurable and sustainable results.

Assesses and analyzes financial trends to identify business implications.

Analyzes and reports on retail operations activities.

Ensures that the customers perspective is a driving force behind customer satisfaction.

Seeks to understand the customers circumstances, problems, expectations and needs.

Identifies customer service issues and creates solutions.

Education, Experience, and Credentials

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to a bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management or a related field.

Requires seven years of retail experience, operations experience or a combination of both, with a minimum of four years management experience in a multi-unit environment.

Requires verifiable success with market expansion and business development.

Requires a valid driver's license, safe driving record, proof of insurance and reliable transportation.

Requires CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of employment.

Physical Requirements

Requires tactile ability in order to evaluate quality of clothing.

Requires frequent travel to retail store locations including warehouse and outlet stores.

Lifts or moves up to thirty (30) pounds of clothing and housewares safely on and off retail shelving fixtures up to ten (10) feet high, clothing racks four (4) feet high, and z-racks six (6) feet high.

Pushes and pulls z-racks holding up to one-hundred (100) pieces of clothing and weighing a minimum of 150 pounds.

Bends and reaches into gaylords five (5) feet high to remove clothing and housewares.

Ability to push carts weighing up to 150 pounds.

Requires ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Environmental Conditions

Fast paced environment with short deadlines and regular instances of critical or unusual situations.

Scope of work includes office, retail stores, light industrial and warehouse settings with exposure to heat, cold, dirt, dust, pet hair, mold and other allergens.

Subject to work in an office, light warehouse, store showroom and surrounding grounds setting.

Requires frequent travel to LLGI locations.
