CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER - MARINE CONSTRUCTION

R.E. Staite is a small business, heavy civil general engineering contractor, with its facilities located in San Diego, California. For over 80 years, R.E. Staite has specialized in marine and heavy construction, piers, wharfs, marinas, deep pile foundations, bridge construction and dredging, successfully completing projects along the western seaboard from Panama to Alaska. R.E. Staite performs a high percentage of projects with its own forces and specialty equipment.

R.E. Staite is seeking a full-time Marine Construction Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

Accountable for the planning, construction, safety, supervision, and performance tracking of the project team.

Develop project work plans and schedules; calculate time requirements and sequence project elements.

Monitor construction activity to ensure work is progressing as scheduled, adhering to contract specifications and budgets.

Anticipate project conflicts, communicate preventative action plans, and implement solutions to avoid issues.

Interface with Superintendents, Foremen, Field Engineers, Subcontractors, Consultants, and Owners/Clients.

Write subcontracts, interface with owners/engineers of record, prepare submittals and RFIs, develop change orders, prepare monthly invoices, and prepare master/monthly schedule updates.

Develop and maintain appropriate electronic and hard copy reports and records.

Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:

Five 5+ years’ experience in marine and/or heavy civil construction management/oversight positions.

BS degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.

PE certification preferred.

Relevant marine construction experience in pile driving, sheet piles, king piles, heavy pre-cast projects, deep foundations, and dredging.

Proven ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong interpersonal, leadership, and verbal/written communication skills are required.

Internet savvy with competence in Microsoft Office applications. Strong MS Excel proficiency. Willingness to learn new software systems. Knowledge of HCSS a plus.

Must have a valid U.S. driver's license, pass a drug test, and be able to pass a federal background investigation.

Additional consideration will be given to applicants who have experience with government (USACE & NAVFAC) construction/dredging contracts.
