The Chief Legal Officer (CLO) reporting directly to the Group CEO, will be responsible for shaping the legal framework of a diverse and dynamic organization operating on a global scale. The CLO will play a pivotal role in overseeing legal strategy and oversight, international compliance, risk management, contract negotiations, intellectual property protection, and dispute resolution and litigation management globally.

The ideal candidate will have awareness of geopolitical trends, geopolitical risks, and regional dynamics that may impact the company's operations and legal environment, and the ability to provide strategic advice based on geopolitical analysis. Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

Manage and resolve legal disputes and litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions, including coordinating with external counsel and representing the company's interests in legal proceedings.

Develop and execute comprehensive legal strategies to support the company's global business objectives, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and corporate governance standards across all jurisdictions.

Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in multiple continents where the company operates, including laws related to corporate governance, data privacy, employment, intellectual property, and industry-specific regulations.

Develop and implement strategies to protect the company's intellectual property rights globally, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets, and manage enforcement actions when necessary.

Lead legal due diligence and provide guidance on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and other cross-border transactions, ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation.

Build and maintain relationships with government officials, regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders worldwide, and advocate for the company's interests on legislative and regulatory matters.

Establish and oversee ethics and compliance programs to promote a culture of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct throughout the organization, providing training and guidance to employees as needed.

Provide legal support and guidance for international expansion initiatives, including market entry strategies, regulatory compliance, and establishment of legal entities and partnerships.

Lead negotiations of complex commercial agreements, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and other transactions, and oversee contract management processes to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.

Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Requirements

20% travel required both U.S. domestically and international.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the Legal department. Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work;
