Position Summary :

The

Director of Strategic Sourcing

oversees the demand planning and procurement systems for all QualiTech divisions and is responsible for the supplier negotiations and analysis of the company’s purchasing function. Key job functions include successful negotiations and management of supplier contracts, developing and maintaining an understanding of market conditions impacting raw material costs, partnering with internal departments in pursuit of cost reductions, and sustaining our supplier quality system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to transition the procurement function to a Strategic Sourcing team including Supplier Relation Management (SRM), Category sourcing plans and development of business continuity planning across the supply base.

Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability.

Develops and demonstrates strong market analytics and provides materials forecasting to the business divisions.

Recruits and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.

Responsible for managing all third-party manufacturing partnerships (co-manufacturers).

Compare supplier prices and recommend new supplier solutions and new sources of supply.

Manage supply and pricing risk on key supply cost centers.

Evaluates vendor quotations that utilize appropriate negotiations and purchasing techniques to ensure quality price, delivery, and service.

Plan and execute commodity contracts.

Establish a system to monitor supplier performance.

Designs, implements, manages, and monitors inventory and purchasing reporting systems to meet organizational requirements.

Optimize total acquisition cost of company’s raw material and supplies purchases.

Partners with Product Development, Sales and Plant Managers on the quoting, development and implementation of new products and/or customers.

Work as a team leader or team member in the New Product Request (NPR) process, researching stakeholder requirements and documenting RFP or obtaining quotes.

Fully own and control the demand planning process for Agronomy Division.

Demonstrate sound business decision-making, aligned with company values and ethics.

Manage purchasing department staff.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a related field; MBA, Supply Chain Management, a plus.

10 years progressively responsible experience including demand planning, purchasing, production planning, contract management, mathematics, and/or statistical forecast modeling.

5+ years of experience in a leadership position within a manufacturing setting.
