The 30th Street Senior Center is San Francisco's largest multipurpose senior center with eight programs serving more than 6,000 seniors per year. We offer multiple programs for active seniors citywide including exercise classes, delicious meals, and a variety of social activities to carry out our mission to help seniors remain healthy, independent, and in their communities for as long as possible. Our Aging and Disability Resource Center, home-delivered meals, and case management programs provide additional support to seniors in our community.

Position Overview:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors? On Lok Day Services is seeking a Program Manager for our 30th Street Senior Center, San Francisco's largest multipurpose senior center. In this role, you will lead a dynamic team, manage daily operations, and ensure the successful implementation of our programs, including the Aging Mastery Program (AMP). This 10-week virtual course, created by the National Council on Aging and presented by On Lok, covers topics like exercise, nutrition, financial fitness, and more, helping our participants develop a personalized playbook for aging well.

Roles and Responsibilities:

PROGRAM/CENTER MANAGEMENT 60%

Supervise a team of frontline staff

Manage daily operations, continuous improvement, and evaluation of OLDS programs through data analysis and program measures.

Develop, plan, and implement programming and services appropriate for ethnically and culturally diverse older adults and adults with disabilities.

Manage relationships with community partners, vendors, external sites, and citywide programs.

Develop and implement training and orientations to the programs, services, and applicable policies and procedures for staff and volunteers.

Perform Manager-On-Duty responsibilities as required in support of the daily operations of the Center and all programs.

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

COMPLIANCE 20%

Responsible for departmental budget oversight, by monitoring expenses and analyzing financial statements in partnership with OLDS leadership.

Responsible for reporting on contractual deliverables, and assisting in the preparation of grants and foundation reports.

Responsible for contract compliance, audits, and annual monitoring, per regulatory body.

Maintain departmental administrative and operational policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory body.

Responsible for participant safety in programs.

STRATEGIC PLANNING & LEADERSHIP 20%

Through cause-driven leadership, embody the mission and vision of On Lok by relentlessly pursuing quality of life for seniors and their families in San Francisco

Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff and interns. Oversee the recruitment, training, recognition, and supervision of independent contractors and volunteers.

Member of the OLDS Management Team. Collaborate with OLDS leadership and Program Managers to improve client services, programs, and engagement.

Represent On Lok through community presentations, public speaking, and outreach. Promote the Senior Center in partnership with the marketing department's social media efforts.

With direction from the Executive Director, work in conjunction with the Development team on corporate volunteer opportunities for OLDS and serve as a steward of donations and gifts.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manage the department's strategic and operational goals.

Implement and communicate direction for goals, policies, and strategy for achievement.

Motivate and lead department staff performance and escalate issues as necessary.

Strategically and systemically handle staff development and performance.

Anticipate challenges and put a strategy in place to resolve them in a timely manner.

Align department and employee actions, behaviors, and professional goals with On Lok's mission and goals.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

1-2 years of management experience.

Bilingual in English/Spanish OR English/Chinese - Cantonese required.

Working knowledge of computers and excellent writing skills required.

Must have access to a car, a valid CA driver's license with a clean record, and proof of insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification by the ASFA, ACSM, NSCA, NASM
