FSO BBC Consulting (Actuarial-Life) / Senior Manager / Cayman Islands
Join our Financial Services Office (FSO) and you will work with multi-disciplinary teams from around the world to deliver a global market perspective. Aligned to key industry groups including asset management and private equity, banking and capital markets, and insurance, we provide integrated assurance, consulting, strategy & transactions, and tax services to our clients. This position will involve working closely with other EY teams, particularly in the UK, Europe and US to deliver cross-border engagements to our clients.
The opportunity
We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to be considered for the position of Actuarial Consulting Senior Manager (Life) in our Financial Services practice. This exciting opportunity is in our Life practice in Bermuda and is a result of the continued growth in the Life insurance/reinsurance industry across the region. Here, you’ll be right at the heart of that mission, working directly with clients, mentoring and developing team members and building your personal brand as a leader in your field.
Your key responsibilities
We’ll look to you to lead client engagement teams in the Life area of our practice, in a wide variety of areas including:
Financial Reporting
Risk Management
Actuarial Transformation
Financial Modelling
Mergers and Acquisitions
Audit Support / Approved Actuary support
Capital optimisation
Investment advisory
New business start-up services

Skills and attributes for success
Lead large scale client engagements. Consistently deliver quality client services. Manage expectations of client service delivery.
Effectively lead and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds. Provide constructive feedback/coaching to team members.
Generate new business opportunities. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks.
Demonstrate deep actuarial technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Remain current on new regulations concerning the Insurance industry.
Maintain a reputation as an industry expert by writing articles and speaking at industry events.
To qualify for the role you must have
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related major
Minimum of 8 years’ experience working in an actuarial-oriented position, with 3 years of increased management responsibility
Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or other internationally recognized association
Proficiency in the use of actuarial-related software/tools
Excellent analytical and project management skills, along with a creative approach to overcoming challenges
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to understand and persuade on complex subjects
Ideally, you’ll also have
Prior consulting experience with business development skills
Willingness and ability to travel to meet client needs
Some managerial experience including leading teams across different projects
