Greenspring Montessori School is seeking a
Floating Classroom Partner
for the 2024-25 school year to support Montessori classrooms for students ages 18 months through 14 years. The Floating Assistant supports a classroom when a staff member is absent and assists in our after-school program.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:Prepare the classroom environmentGo outdoors daily in all weather conditions including rain, snow, and a wide range of temperaturesManage the “flow” of the classroomSupport children in their own resolution of conflicts and concernsBe a role model for children in speech, tone, demeanor, and actionsServe as a record keeper of the work children are engaged in and children’s social interactionsHelp set up for nap and lunchSupervise recessSupport dismissalAssist with cleaningAssist with toileting (with toddlers)Serve the needs of the children and communityCOMPETENCIESHave an understanding of (or interest in learning about) Montessori educationHave a great love for working with young childrenHave a strong work ethicActively seek professional growth and developmentBe a team playerBe solution-orientedBe seeking a long-term positionBe excited to join the Greenspring Montessori School community!POSITION DETAILSThe hours are Monday through Friday from either 8:00am – 4:30pm. This is a full-time position during the academic year (mid-August through mid-June). Summer opportunities are also available.
