Aon M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS) is looking for a Vice President – Tax Insurance Broking.

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by supporting the tax insurance efforts of Aon across North America. This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work both virtually and from our New York City, San Francisco, Chicago or Houston offices.

Your Impact as a Tax Insurance Broker

Aon is seeking candidates for the position of Tax Insurance Broker. Aon is the leading broker of tax insurance in North America. The tax team is part of Aon M&A and Transaction Solutions and is staffed primarily by former practicing tax lawyers. Tax insurance is actively used to facilitate M&A transactions, tax credit investments and as a corporate risk management tool. However, a significant opportunity exists to broaden the use of tax insurance throughout the U.S. and North American region. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial and highly motivated to contribute to the growth of this in-demand and fast-growing business.

The Tax Insurance Broker position is commensurate with the growth of Aon’s tax insurance business. As part of a candidate’s duties, they will assist Aon colleagues to drive increased use of tax insurance with existing Aon clients and prospects. Ideal candidates will be mid-level to senior tax lawyers with significant professional expertise and an established professional network as well as client-facing experience delivering tax-related services. The position will be at the VP level. It is anticipated that the position will eventually involve travel to support producers and sales efforts, and visit clients.

Job Responsibilities:

Structuring and placing tax insurance programs on behalf of Aon’s clients.Supporting the production efforts of Aon’s retail producers and account executives.Attendance at important tax-related conferences to promote Aon’s tax insurance team and the overall M&A and Transaction Solutions business.

You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

Skills/Experience:Strong background in U.S. federal income taxation and significant experience with general U.S. tax law and assessments and the tax ramifications of business transactions.M&A-related and/or tax litigation experience is considered a benefit though not a requirement for the position.Tax lawyer or tax accountant with significant experience practicing tax law.5+ years of relevant work experience, specifically client-facing experience practicing tax law and proven ability to develop tax-related business.Good network among the legal and business community.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.High level of self-direction and sound judgment.Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, a related field or equivalent industry experience.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $150,000 to $200,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
