What we're looking for:Nexamp is looking to hire a Software Engineering Manager to join the Product & Technology team. In this role, you will manage the software development team's delivery, schedule, and growth. You will use your expertise in Python, Typescript, and other programming languages, technologies, and architecture patterns to provide solutions to daily implementation challenges. This role involves being a people lead/mentor for a small team as well as a senior individual contribution for the squad. You will be hybrid out of our Boston office and will report to the SVP, Product & Technology.

What you'll do:

Lead a tech team to deliver software solutions that meet stakeholder requirements.

Mentor more junior developers to help them grow both technically and professionally.

Ensure the continued growth of the team to help them operate efficiently and effectively.

Recommend, advocate for, and implement software architecture and process changes.

Set aggressive goals for the team and maintain and achieve the software development schedule.

Act as a senior technical expert for the outcome, keeping up with external trends.

Design, implement, and debug new features across one or more projects.

Work with the product team, stakeholders, and other developers to refine system designs and influence architectural decisions.

Maintain and influence coding standards and development processes.

Document implementations and design decisions.

What you'll bring:

B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field.

Alternately, professional experience equivalent to the above.

7+ years of professional experience in software development.

2+ years of experience in one of the following: Python, or Typescript.

Experience with Agile methodologies.

Experience leading/mentoring technical teams.

Solid understanding of infrastructure (databases, storage, caching, content delivery), and cloud hosting offerings.

Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.

Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.

Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.

Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.

Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.

Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
