Job Title: Head of Market Analytics (Senior Director)Location: Boston or DallasThe Senior Director, US Market Analytics is responsible and accountable for analyzing and translating commercial data into actionable insights to influence and drive key business decisions reflective of market and industry trends as well as customer behavior. This position is responsible for generating customer insights that fuel product growth strategy and brand building in addition to creating a data-rich marketing analytics strategy to determine marketing ROI. This role drives commercial forecasting and supports the company in understanding their target audience, competition and overall market conditions. The Senior Director will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to build effective plans, execute on key deliverables and effectively report findings in a timely manner. This role must demonstrate the ability to work independently with a proactive approach to meet business needs and deadlines but must remain connected to the rest of the US team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide analytical leadership through data driven insights to top management and other department heads, helping inform strategic business decisions related to product development, marketing and sales.

Lead the development of advanced analytics techniques and algorithms leveraging complex and disparate data to further assess and understand patient journeys, diagnosis / treatment pathways and on-going therapy / product utilization.

Plan and implement overall marketing analytics strategy and define KPIs to track and measure trends and gain market share.

Be recognized as internal subject matter expert on commercial data, efforts, activities and trends by providing timely, data driven insights.

Drive the performance narrative, develop data visualizations / analysis and draft messaging across business categories, cross-functional forums and executive stakeholders.

Lead commercial forecasting efforts through the development and maintenance of dynamic, assumption driven forecast models to inform commercial, financial and supply planning.

Ensure all relevant information and data from available sources and cross-functional stakeholders is integrated into highly predictive and prescriptive forecasts, analyses and market mix assessments.

Proactively lead ad-hoc analyses to assess key business questions and anticipate needs of cross-functional stakeholders to shape strategic decisions.

Provide pricing analytics and commercial spend effectiveness to support brand performance across business categories.

Recruit, on-board, develop and mentor talent to build an integrated, high-performing team of Business Insights Analysts.

Effectively manage vendor partners / consultants and associated budget and optimize resources, change management and overall project leadership.

Understand the legal and compliance environment and drive collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics or a related field, required; Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) preferred.

12+ years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology or industry consulting experience, including 10+ years of progressive experience in advanced analytics, reporting, commercial forecasting or commercial operations roles within a corporate environment is required.

Strong understanding of complex specialty markets (e.g. dermatology, immunology) with the ability to simplify complex content to ensure key messages are effectively delivered to customer stakeholders.

Strong background in market research, data analysis and customer insights.

Deep experience and knowledge with pharmaceutical data sources (e.g. prescription and sales data, patient claims data, specialty pharmacy and patient hub data).

Experience building internal and external messaging on key performance indicators, market trends and forward looking projections.

Strategic and innovative thinker with a proven ability to build relationships with key internal leaders to achieve consensus or negotiate through complex challenges.

Excellent executive presence with superb written and verbal communication skills.

Highly analytical with attention to detail and demonstrated ability to act decisively in the absence of complete information and be comfortable with appropriate risk.

Proven ability to provide leadership in a team based on a matrix environment without direct authority and through influence and expertise.

Proven track record of effective vendor management and ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and often changing environment.

Track record of creating scalable process improvements.

Ability to travel (~10% of time) to regional and national meetings.
