Job DescriptionThe primary responsibility of the Field Operations function is to operationalize field-based plan of action strategies, initiatives and plans to maximize field force effectiveness, business outcomes and patient care by working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Market Access teams. This includes ensuring field forces are optimally deployed with the correct territory alignment, targeting the right customers, with the right call plan. The person in this position will act as a change agent for field deployment and operations, to drive continuous improvement and establish best practices for the sales organization. This role will be responsible for the Field Operations team and will report to the Senior Director, Head of Field and Data Operations.

This is a hybrid position in our Waltham, MA office. Qualified candidates may be considered for a remote position.

Key Responsibilities

Oversees field operations team that creates and maintains an effective field communication program with sales management

Responsible for Veeva CRM platform and capability roadmap

Ensure consistency with Commercial Strategies by monitoring changes to Field Sales Targeting, Alignment business rules and compliance requirements

Identify process dependencies, inform and coordinate within Customer Experience, Insights & Operations (CxI&O) and cross-functional teams to ensure deployment is optimized and downstream processes are efficiently executed

Work closely with field sales to identify and replicate best practices, pilot new initiatives to accelerate performance, and remove barriers to the selling process.

Institute processes to streamline and support sales team with ad-hoc data and field inquiries, investigate, assess impact on IC and resolve in a timely manner

Manage field deployment, size, structure, territory alignments, placement efforts across all franchises by partnering with key stakeholders and ensure field teams are optimally deployed to achieve commercial objectives

Provide strategic and tactical support of the entire field deployment process while ensuring strong understanding of stakeholder needs and enabling strategy

Identify, prioritize, and manage initiatives that improve sales force effectiveness, performance, and productivity.

Lead or co-lead special initiatives and projects to drive key business results (through strong project planning and management)

Maintenance of personnel information (Roster), field alignment files, including sales force structure, hierarchy and business rules. Develop and administer Targeting and Alignment training materials

Manage key incentive compensation planning and administration activities, including plan design analytics, goal setting, reporting, payout administration, and awards/recognition

Ensure all IC programs are conducted in a compliant fashion and are aligned with the needs of the sales organization and overall corporate direction/strategy/goals

Lead IC Committee and associated plan documents, policies, and procedures

Sets up and leads cross-functional vehicle reimbursement committee with HR, Legal and commercial

Annually reviews vehicle reimbursement policies/programs with HR, Legal and commercial leadership

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Marketing or other related fields required

12+ years in performing business analyses aligned to Field Deployment, Size and Structure, Targeting, Alignment, call plan development with supporting skills/experience in the commercial pharmaceutical/biotech/Rare disease business

Hands-on experience working with a range of healthcare data. Ability to synthesize and integrate the varied sources of data into insight required to deliver Targeting and Alignment Solutions to the Sales Force

Minimum of 8 years in field operations functional areas - sales force effectiveness, Incentive Compensation, sales performance reporting/analysis, Veeva CRM

Exemplary project management, communication, planning, documentation, and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated ability to multitask across multiple project deliverables

Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Power Point

Prior experience in Field Communications, Field On/Offboarding, Credentialing, Fleet Reimbursement Program is a plus

The base salary pay range for this role is $175,000-$220,000 annually. Actual pay for this position will take into account factors such as experience and location. In addition to a base salary, this position is also eligible for a competitive 401k match, short and long-term incentives, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD and life insurance benefits, in addition to other health and wellness programs and offerings.
