Salary range:

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The salary range for this position is $193,200-$413,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications and nominations for a nationally recognized academic physician to serve as the

Chief of the UCLA Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism .

One of the leading endocrinology divisions nationally, the UCLA Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism is dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge and understanding of diabetes, endocrine and metabolic disorders. The division comprises a distinguished cadre of 69 faculty members across the full spectrum of clinical care, research, and education with expertise in various subspecialties of endocrinology. The division includes comprehensive clinical programs providing state-of-the-art care for patients with diabetes, thyroid disease, and other endocrine disorders. The division trains future leaders in endocrinology through the UCLA – VA Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism fellowship program.

Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Medicine, this is a dynamic time for the department. The division chief works collaboratively with clinical, academic, and administrative leaders to advance the mission of excellence in clinical care, education, research, and community engagement. The chief cultivates a collegial, inclusive, and multidisciplinary culture consistent with the principles of the DGSOM’s Cultural North Star.

The ideal candidate is a visionary and distinguished academic physician with an outstanding record of accomplishments in research, education, clinical care, and service, who has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a track record of collaboration. All candidates must hold an MD or equivalent, have appropriate academic credentials for a tenured faculty appointment, be board-eligible in endocrinology, and eligible for licensure in California.
