UChicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital , located in Hyde Park, is a state-of-the-art 172-bed hospital dedicated to caring for infants, children, teens, and young adults. Offering a range of services from general care to groundbreaking treatments for the most complex medical conditions, Comer Children's is home to the only Level 1 pediatric trauma center on Chicago's South Side.

Comer 6 South holds fifteen licensed beds for medical or surgical patients; cardiac telemetry unit, heart station/echocardiograms, minor procedures room, play area, family kitchen, and conference room.

A

Staff Nurse

is a registered professional nurse (RN) who manages patient-centered care that is outcome-directed. Patient-centered care principles and professional nursing practice standards provide the foundation for the nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care provided. The staff nurse assumes the primary responsibility and accountability for all patient care personally provided and that provided by those directly under her/his supervision.

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing.

Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN degree or higher preferred.

Associate Degree Nurses are required to enroll in a BSN program within six (6) to nine (9) months of hire, and make progress toward and complete their BSN degree within 30 months. ADN nurses receive 100% tuition reimbursement towards a BSN degree from an accredited program.

Current Illinois RN license.

Current BLS Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Pediatric RN experience.

Position Details

Full-Time (0.9 FTE).

Night Shift, 7p-7a, every other weekend.

Unit/Department: Comer 6th Floor South.

CBA Code: NNU.
