Job Summary:Are you a talented Senior Software Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Staff Software Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for technical solutions architecture and design leadership, utilizing your expertise in Java, Spring Framework, CI/CD flows, DevOps, Scrum, Kanban, SQL/NoSQL DB (Oracle, MySQL, Spanner, Cassandra), and Cloud Experience (Google, Microsoft, Open Stack).
What You'll Do:Develop a comprehensive payment lifecycle management solution that caters to Walmart's physical POS clients, as well as Ecommerce and omnichannel consumers across multiple markets and geographies (including the US, Mexico, UK, Canada, China, etc.).Build scalable and high-performing services to support a wide range of tender types, such as Credit/Debit cards, Gift cards, EBT, eWIC, Phone cards, PayPal, Chase pay, etc. Additional capabilities include prepaid phone activations, utility payments, benefits lookups, point of banking transactions, Sam’s Club Membership lookups, and Pharmacy Adjudications.Lead small groups of six to ten engineers in software development and design, identifying short- and long-term solutions and timelines. Review and approve proposed solutions, implement new architectural patterns, and perform design and code reviews of changes.Provide support to the business for new and existing systems by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues. Research and identify needed solutions, determine implementation designs, provide guidance on implications of new and enhanced systems, and direct users to appropriate contacts for issues outside of own domain.Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information, performing root cause analysis, engaging support teams when needed, developing solutions, driving the development of an action plan, and completing online documentation.Demonstrate up-to-date expertise and apply it to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans. Provide expert advice and guidance to others, support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs, and build commitment for perspectives and rationales.Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs, determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices, monitoring progress and results, recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities, and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.Model compliance with company policies and procedures and support company standards of ethics and integrity. Incorporate these into the development and implementation of business plans, use the Open Door Policy, and demonstrate and assist others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.
What you'll bring:Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, CI/CD flows, DevOps, Scrum, Kanban, SQL/NoSQL DB (Oracle, MySQL, Spanner, Cassandra), and Cloud Experience (Google, Microsoft, Open Stack).Extensive experience in RESTful Microservices and API design, development, and management.Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker & Kubernetes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create robust documentation.Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work on multiple requirements and features concurrently.Experience with cloud native technology & public cloud.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
