Director, Before & After School Program (Santa Clarita Valley Area)

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, Santa Clarita, California, United States, 91382

Positive adult role models are a key asset to the development of every child. At the Y, we take a wholistic approach to the development of every child and youth, from cradle to community well-being (from birth to age 24). The YMCA is seeking a qualified Director to oversee one of our before and after school programs located on the campus of a public elementary school. The program is licensed by the California Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division, therefore, candidate eligibility is determined by years of experience in the field of youth development, before and after school and group child care and by the successful completion of the required college coursework. In this role, you will lead, manage, supervise and oversee a before and after school program on the campus of an elementary school for students in TK-6th grade. You will work directly with elementary school youth, their families and your team. Responsibilities include program and activity planning, administrative tasks, parent and family engagement, supervision of a staff team (including training and leadership development), roster management, snack and supply shopping via our online portals, youth development and engagement, school partnerships and relationships, community outreach, compliance (with YMCA safety/risk management and host school policies and local & state laws) and facility management. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and some familiarity with California Title 22 regulations, which are the California laws that govern state licensed before and after school programs. This is a full-time, year round position; during the school breaks, the program converts from a before and after school program to a day camp. This role is supported by a dynamic team, as the Y currently provides youth development programs at over 140 schools campuses across the county. This is an opportunity to serve youth and families in the community and make a lasting impact in their lives.
