Company DescriptionThe General Manager (GM) of The Athlete Performance Center (APC) LA plays a crucial leadership role, responsible for guiding the vision, strategic development, and positioning of the APC within the sports and economic landscape, as well as overseeing team operations in Santa Monica, CA. The GM will lead a team of 20 staff members, oversee three specialized teams with their respective directors, and drive innovation and growth within the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker and dynamic leader who will work closely with the global APC leadership to ensure our team remains a key player within Red Bull and the sports-world.

Job DescriptionSTRATEGIC VISION & IMPLEMENTATION

Vision Alignment: Drive the vision of the company to "empower athletes to achieve greatness" and ensure it is integrated into all aspects of the facility’s operations.

Positioning: Expanding the network and visibility of the APC, developing it into a renowned top-class contact point for elite athletes.

Innovative Growth: Identify and implement innovative ideas and developments to keep the group at the forefront of sports performance.

Partnership Management: Identify new partnerships and continuously development existing ones; maintain and expand on external and internal relationships.

LEADERSHIP & TALENT MANAGEMENT

Oversee Daily Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations of the facility, maintaining high standards of performance and service.

Team Development: Coach and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.

Performance Monitoring: Implement and monitor performance indicators to track the progress and success of the facility and team.

TEAM CENTER & DEVELOPMENT

Program Enhancement: Lead efforts to continually improve and expand the facility’s programs and services.

Resource Allocation: Direct optimal allocation of resources to support team and program development.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support the center’s growth and development.

INTEGRATION WITH RED BULL ORGANIZATION

Brand Alignment: Ensure the facility’s operations and culture are aligned with the broader Red Bull brand and values.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with other departments and teams within Red Bull to leverage synergies and optimize performance.

Global Engagement: Be an integral player in positioning the center within the global Red Bull organization, contributing to its global strategy and initiatives.

COLLABORATION WITH GLOBAL APC LEADERSHIP

Strategic Partnership: Work closely with the global APC leadership to align on strategic initiatives and goals.

Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate the exchange of best practices and innovative ideas with other performance teams globally.

Global Standards: Ensure the facility meets and exceeds global standards set by the APC leadership, driving excellence in all operations.

Qualifications10+ years of proven senior executive experience in managing high-profile sports organizations, demonstrating a track record of exceptional leadership and operational excellence.

Possession of a Ph.D. or advanced Master’s degree in Business, Management Studies, or a closely related discipline from a top-tier institution

Demonstrated ability to foster innovation and drive continuous improvement.

Expertise in diverse business functions, including finance, legal, human resources, marketing, and more

Lead and collaborate effectively within a complex, global organization, with a deep understanding of cross-cultural dynamics and international business practices.

Extensive and high-level professional network within the sports industry, with established connections to key influencers, organizations, and stakeholders.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

Superior strategic planning and execution capabilities.

Ability to influence and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Additional InformationThe base salary range for this position is $225,060 to $266,540 + cash incentives Actual salary offer may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
