What you’ll be doing:

Lead, develop, and implement a banking partnerships strategy for the Americas (US and Canada in particular) that supports our vision for Airwallex’s payments network.

Manage our most strategic partnership opportunities, both existing and new, and act as the main point of contact between Airwallex and our partners.

Conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape to ensure that Airwallex maintains its position as a payment leader.

Identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate with local banking partners, acquirers, and payment methods as Airwallex expands to new geographies.

Coordinate due diligence processes with prospective partners and project manage onboarding with new partners.

Develop yourself as an industry thought leader.

The ideal candidate:

A partnerships expert with experience in the payments industry, preferably having managed partnerships with major banks and card schemes. You have experience working in both big organizations as well as fast-growing startups, and hence have the knowledge and experience in putting in place processes and structure, while remaining flexible and creative in ensuring they are effective and relevant for the business. You are resourceful, action-oriented, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Skills and experience required:

At least 7 years of experience in a partnerships or product role at a fintech, payments company, bank, or major card scheme.

Experience in commercial negotiation and partnership sourcing and management.

Excellent written, verbal, and in-person communication skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships.

A solid understanding of compliance and onboarding with global and regional banks.

Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders including Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Commercial teams.

Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, exceptional attention to detail.

Enjoys working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and thrives under pressure.
