We invite qualified applicants to apply for the position of Information Systems Analyst II. Join the State Retirement Systems (SRS) Information Technology team and help provide support for the Agency as an integral part of technology decisions and help roadmap the agency’s technological advances. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and eager to learn new technology. The candidate must have a customer service mentality and be willing to work as part of the Infrastructure team. SRS is conveniently located on the west side of Springfield with free parking on-site.

Essential Functions

Provides high level technical expertise by performing advanced server administration functions including the development, analysis, interpretation, evaluation, modification, and installation of advanced technologies including network components and virtual server environments for State Retirement Systems.Tracks and documents setup, configuration, and implementation changes to State Retirement Systems equipment including network devices, servers, and personal computers. Assists in the maintenance and administration of information technology hardware, operating systems, and local area network. Performs professional level troubleshooting and system administration functions in a Windows Server environment for the entire agency.Maintains the State Retirement Systems security infrastructure by monitoring network devices including firewalls, intrusion detection devices, managing multi-factor authentication tools and Network Detection (NDR), End-User Detection and Response (EDR) products. Makes recommendations to section supervisor regarding device configuration and setup. Reviews existing systems to evaluate current configurations. Develops and recommends new procedures and techniques to improve network systems security and performance. Assists in the administration of complex network systems. Assures connectivity and security of State Retirement Systems network.Configures, tunes, administers, monitors, and analyzes various security environments and performs investigations, threat hunting, and remediation on appliances and services such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Network Detection (NDR), Risk Based Vulnerability Management scanning (RBVM), and End-User Detection and Response (EDR) systems. Configures, tunes, and administers cybersecurity appliances and services. Monitors all cybersecurity systems and company devices for potential threats and remediates any cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Analyzes network alerts from various sources within the enterprise and determines the potential causes of the alerts. Performs investigations, threat hunting, and remediations necessary to remedy possible threats and security alerts and notify management in a timely manner.Provides technical assistance to end users in the use of Agency hardware and software. Researches and troubleshoots reported problems and determines appropriate solutions.Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Specialized Skills

Requires three (3) years of professional experience working with server and system processes.Requires three (3) years of professional experience diagnosing and resolving Windows computer and server problems and troubleshooting various software, hardware, and network issues.Requires three (3) years of professional experience diagnosing and resolving Windows OS and server problems and troubleshooting various hardware, software, and network issues.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.Requires three years of professional experience in Windows Server Operating System platform. Of those three years, 2 years must include supporting a virtual server environment and designing, configuring, and implementing infrastructure devices including switches and firewalls.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefers three (3) years of professional experience working with server and system processes.Prefers three (3) years of professional experience working with Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory, and virtual server technologies.Prefers three (3) years of professional experience diagnosing and resolving Windows OS and server problems and troubleshooting various hardware, software, and network issues.Prefers one (1) year of professional experience administering, monitoring and analyzing various security devices and technologies such as End-User Detection and Response (EDR), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Network Detection (NDR).
