Overview of Phigenics

Phigenics is a privately held, 20-year-old firm that provides water management programs, proprietary and non-proprietary diagnostic testing, select equipment, and other consultative services to help prevent facilities from having issues with water-borne pathogens which negatively impact patron/patient health. The Company’s core market is health care, but it also services non-healthcare clients throughout the United States. It is an acknowledged, highly respected market leader with significant growth runway available to it.

The Position

Is one of 5 VP’s/Senior VP’s that report to our new CEO. Dr. Mark Crockett, MD, is our new non-founder CEO who recently joined the Company. Peers are SVP-Sales, VP-Operations, VP-Finance, and VP-Human Resources. We are looking for a technically skilled, highly collaborative, intellectually curious, and driven “team player” to join us and, initially, execute on a 3-year strategic accelerated growth plan, and then continue to enhance our market share by creating, implementing, and monitoring market and brand strategies. The management team is supported by and accountable to a very experienced Board of Directors (BOD). The BOD is comprised of two of the Company’s Founders, the CEO, and three outside independent Directors.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Marketing and Innovation has two management roles in the Company. The first is responsible for all traditional aspects of technical product management and marketing. The second is to help our CEO shape our Reno, NV-based R&D group to develop commercially feasible diagnostics and other products/services which support the Company’s core Mission of protecting public health.

With respect to Marketing, the Company is deep on technical expertise (2/3 of employees are STEM grads) but underdeveloped in traditional marketing disciplines such as market research, competitive analysis, definition of addressable market size, strategy to capture target market share, competitive pricing analyses, product line profitability, product positioning, costing methodology, brand identity, etc. Direct Marketing reports include: 6 Product Managers and Marketing Communications (internal and external).

With respect to Innovation, the VP will work closely with our CEO and R&D staff on developing and executing a roadmap to develop a pipeline of proprietary diagnostics and other products. These diagnostics and products must be commercially feasible. Phigenics has a robust “Stage and Gate Process” for product development and the new VP will own the Stage and Gate process. The VP will have significant interactions with the CEO, Director of Research, and Phigenics’ Founder/Director Dr. Bill McCoy, PHD. Direct Innovation reports include the Director of Innovation.

Position Location

Phigenics’ new CEO is officed in Warrenville, IL. The company also maintains offices/labs in Fayetteville, AR, Milwaukee, WI, and Reno, NV. Our sales force, sales support, and certain marketing execs are geographically distributed. The VP of Marketing and Innovation will ideally office in either Warrenville, IL or Fayetteville, AR. Reasonable travel to Company locations, industry conferences, etc. is expected.

Compensation and Benefits

The VP’s compensation package will consist of

competitive base salary; annual incentive opportunity based on the attainment of Company financial and individual objectives; car allowance; and long-term opportunity via equity participation.

The VP will also have the opportunity to purchase equity if he/she desires.
