$67,500 - $107,000 per year, depending on experienceAs an employee of Wagstaff, you’ll enjoy:FREE medical/dental/vision benefit optionsPaid non-working holidaysMonthly, site-wide BBQsUp to 8% retirement contributionAnnual bonus program1200 Sqft onsite gym, accessible 24/hrs a dayFamily-friendly, company-wide eventsJob SummaryApply mechanical engineering knowledge to the design, development and production of Wagstaff casting equipment.Primary Job ResponsibilitiesBecome familiar with Wagstaff aluminum casting equipment, associated design criteria and philosophiesParticipate with project teams to define the mechanical engineering and equipment requirements, including planned hours, based upon the scope as provided by salesUse parametric solid seed models for the generation of customer approval drawings and mechanical design drawingsCreate the design documents necessary for acquiring customer approval for equipment designs, oversee production of design documents necessary for equipment production, both according to documented design proceduresServe as Wagstaff’s primary technical contact to customer’s technical personnel for mechanical engineering and equipment issues throughout the project, up to and including product start-upReview the Approval Drawings and resultant Manufacturing Drawings for compliance with the Guidelines for Handling Molten Aluminum as set forth by the Aluminum Association, Inc.Provide documented technical and analytical evaluations for the design solutions keeping safety, functionality, and cost effectiveness paramountParticipate as a member of a multi-disciplinary teamTrain other team members in support of the required engineering and design for a limited number of Wagstaff product lines as assignedPrepare and release design documentsProvide technical direction and consultation to other team membersAbide by company policiesPeriodic domestic and international travel required depending upon customer and company business needsIn order to achieve business objectives, work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be requiredOther duties as assignedRequirementsBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical EngineeringMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.General Characteristics:Acquires basic knowledge and develops skills in a specific practice areaApplies prescribed and/or standard techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasksExercises limited judgment on details of work and in application of standard methods for conventional workAcquires an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilitiesGeneral Technical Responsibilities:Designs a complete project, system, component, or process of standard complexityPerforms standard computations or analysisPrepares DrawingsLeadership Skills:Assign tasks to and coordinates with Designers. Coordinates with other departments as necessaryDirection Received:Receives close supervision on unusual or difficult problems, and general review of all aspects of workCommunication Skills:Academic oral and technical writing skillsAttends Customer project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignment. May occasionally lead the meetingsWorking EnvironmentThis job may also require occasional or more frequent travel to and work at customer sites. While at customer sites, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risks of moving equipment and parts, and other risks associated with a construction and/or manufacturing environment. Because of this environment and associated risks, coordination with customer managers/employees may be necessary before entering the customer site, and use of job appropriate personal protective equipment and clothing is required at customer sites.
