Role Overview

Legend Biotechnology is seeking a principal scientist to join our exploratory technology group and contribute to new technology/platform. The successful candidate should possess extensive knowledge and research experience in immunology, molecular biology and cell therapy, gene editing, in particular in vivo CART experience. The candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of T/NK cell therapy, virus packaging, and immune cell function assay. Experience with lentivirus gene therapy and in vivo CART is preferred. The candidate will be able to contribute to developing in vivo cell therapy platform through lentivirus vector design, ex vivo and in vitro function assay. 2-3 years of biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred. The candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to deliver scientific results with integrity and meet timelines, show the value of collaboration and teamwork, and provide strategy, expertise, and guidance in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop cell therapy gene editing platform and optimize cell-based immunoassays, including virus packaging, immune cell isolation and expansion, multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, and cytotoxic assays.

Independently design and execute experiments, document and interpret scientific results, and present the data to peers.

Stay alert to industry developments and possess a good sense of new tech/platform in the field.

Deliver results and meet timelines with good communication and teamwork spirit.

Participate in lab support work.

Requirements

PhD in Immunology / Molecular Biology/Genetics, or a Master's with extensive experience.

More than 3 years' post-graduate experience in human immunology, virology or lentivector gene therapy; 2-3 years of industry experience is preferred; in vivo CART experience is a plus.

Expertise in molecular biology, vector design, gene-editing, and CART.
