Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field10+ years of experience in high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environment10+ years of direct experience in supplier / supply chain managementExperience in understanding and sourcing textiles such as leather, polyurethane, knitted fabrics, microfiber, etc.The Role:Develop a commodity technology roadmap aligning business requirements with supplier capabilitiesResponsible for AVL for commodity managing supplier selection, qualification and price negotiationManage all aspects of new supplier bring-up including database management in Agile or other ERP systemsEnsure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, service and technologyWork closely with Lead Commodity Manager to collaborate with engineering to influence technical design decisions to meet expectations, technical capabilities, and business objectivesInterface with planning and program management to assess current and future sourcing requirementsHelp drive quarterly executive business reviews of strategic sourcing plan that defines (among other things) market and business analysis, product roadmaps, supplier capabilities and annual/quarterly strategic business objectivesMaintain expertise/knowledge of market trends including rigorous analysis of market drivers, cost structures, technical improvements and competitive landscapePeriodic travel to supplier’s manufacturing sitesSupport our OEM supplier initiatives including annual cost reductions, VMI/JIT, lead-time reductions, favorable payment terms, etc.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree + BSEEGlobal supply chain experience managing cross functional teams in a fast pace consumer electronics product companyDeep knowledge of the textiles supply base, unique processes for different textiles, material properties of textiles, and different testing methodologies for different materialsFamiliarity with world-class sourcing methods and toolsKnowledge and experience with continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodologiesKnowledge of basic supply agreement construction; understanding of key contracting provisions/requirementsExpertise in the use of Microsoft ExcelExceptional ability to solve problems and coordinate with global team membersExtensive negotiation experience with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reductionExcellent written and verbal communications skillsAbility to be innovative in issues related to strategic sourcing, vendor relations, quality assurance and the associated measurement systemsExcellent analytical skills (i.e. cost modeling, quotation analysis, supplier selection)Knowledge of Agile highly desirableAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $174,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $288,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
