We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our integrated buildings practice. This position will contribute to Stantec's success by planning, executing, and managing projects ranging from $30 million to over $200 million in construction values. This role is expected to use sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and effective tools and techniques to execute and deliver projects. You will be a senior contributor on our professional Buildings/AE team and will work independently to assist clients from the beginning through the end of a project. Your experience ensures that you are capable of managing the clients, contracts, technical team, project finance, and schedules, as well as supporting the project pursuit efforts, led by the principals.
Your Key Responsibilities
Responsible for managing complex tasks on medium to large-size projects ($30 Million to over $200 Million in construction values)
Responsible for delivering quality documents.
Plan, organize, and direct the work throughout the life of the project to successfully deliver the project to the client.
Keep the Principal in Charge informed of progress on project expectations, potential issues, deadlines, and deliverables.
Maintain client relationship.
Lead the client and project team to assure that the project design meets the client budget, schedule, program, and design intent.
Assist the Principal-in-Charge in the negotiation and development of project agreements.
Develop and manage project budget, schedule, and overall work plan to realize target financial performance.
Oversee development of building documentation in modeling software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD.
Mentor Assistant Task Managers and motivate project teams.
Assure that Project Management Framework tasks are timely completed and properly documented.
Lead project coordination and owner/site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors.
Manage and track change orders, applications for payment by contractors and other contractual modifications impacting budget and schedule.
Work with Operations Manager in determining project staffing needs and recommending personnel.
Direct client invoicing and effectively manage collections.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Knowledge of managing all phases of AE projects including project delivery methods.
Knowledge of DoD design standards such as UFCs.
Knowledge of USACE and NAVFAC design and execution procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Tracking record of delivering projects on time and budget.
Effectively manages multiple deadlines and priorities.
Skilled in facilitating internal and external project team meetings, monitoring, tracking, and controlling outcomes to resolve issues, conflict, and prioritization.
Team player with the client, project team, and partnering contractors.
Effective negotiator and communicator.
Adaptive and strategic.
Strong skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Projects; Prefer experience with Revit.
Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
Must be a licensed architect. California licensure preferred. (or licensed in the home-office state)
Minimum 20 years of experience in the architectural-engineering industry of which minimum 7 years of experience as a project manager in architectural-engineering firms.
Department of Defense experience preferred especially experience with NAVFAC and USACE.
LEED AP a plus.
Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
