POSITION SUMMARY:Manage communications among all branch commercial loan officers and applicable staff.Responsible for lending team business development objectives for location, in addition to location credit quality objectives.Solicit loans, deposits, cash management, and other financial products.Originate, process and service commercial loans.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide strong communications to branch lending staff, conduct performance management assessments, and be active in branch staffing issues and employee relations.Provide active coaching and mentoring of junior staff members, including, but not limited to, commercial lenders at their location.Contact prospects and customers for new business, including both loan and commercial deposits.Visit customers on site and develop strong relationships. Assist customers in determining what products and services will be helpful for them to streamline their business.Interview existing customers and new loan applicants, collect appropriate financial information, and analyze their credit worthiness. Provide the appropriate information to the credit analysts for a thorough financial analysis.Establish structure of loans within framework of loan policy and extended commercial loans up to stated lending limit.Review and administer the credit quality plan for their portfolio and their applicable office, with the assistance/direction of the Chief Credit Officer and Credit Department Manager. Work with analyst to prepare detailed presentations to the loan committee for approval. Professionally and accurately present loan presentations to applicable loan committees.Ensure that documentation is complete, accurate, and that all forms needed are in order for presentation to the customer. Documentation will be consistent with all approval requirements and prudent credit standards.Manage loan portfolio for timely repayment and collect loans in default.Specifically utilize loan reports for past dues, make phone calls and e-mails to customers, and follow up on any promises made to the Bank for repayment. Implement approved work out strategy/plans with applicable customers.Working with credit support staff, assure timely and effective administration of technical exceptions of their loan portfolio. This specifically includes financial statement requirements, collateral perfection, insurance and other ongoing documentation requirements.Education & Skills
College degree or equivalent experience, with emphasis in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.Previous concentrated credit training.Graduate School of Banking and/or MBA preferred.ExperienceA minimum of 20 years experience in Commercial Lending.A minimum of 15 years commercial banking background.A minimum of 5 years leading commercial lenders consisting of 2+ members.Other Skills/CharacteristicsIdeal candidates should demonstrate the capability to generate $5-10 million in loan production annually.Strong ability to read and interpret loan documentation, other process and procedure manuals/instructions, and coaching others in their particular location on documentation related items, as necessary.Self-motivation, good organization skills, and excellent communication and phone skills.Team orientation and the ability to adapt in a fun, fast-paced environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook.Work efficiently and effectively with location Portfolio Assistants on primary accountabilities and responsibilities of the position.Performance MeasuresMaintain loan portfolio at established volumes for self and branch.Drive deposit sales generation and objectives for self and for location to achieve established objectives.Lead the sales culture of the organization, in particular at their respective location.Maintain delinquencies for self and location at or below established levels.How to Apply
