East Liverpool City Hospital is an award-winning community hospital proudly serving residents of the tristate region since 1905. With 152 licensed beds and more than 500 employees, the hospital averages 31,000 Emergency Department visits annually. East Liverpool's medical staff is comprised of more than 160 physicians with an additional 21 resident physicians completing their training in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine. www.elch.org .The Chief Nursing Officer provides strategic leadership as the senior executive position responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions and services within the hospital organization. The role assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating nursing practice on a facility level. The role assumes 24/7 responsibility and has accountability to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care. The Chief Nursing Officer represents nursing concerns on the governing board and at medical staff.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Active and current professional registered nurse licensed in the state in which he or she practices is required.An academic degree in nursing is required, and a postgraduate degree in nursing or related field (may include health care administration or business administration) or a written plan with specified timelines to obtain a postgraduate degree is required.Current BLS (AHA) certificate and maintain current.At least five years of progressive management experience in a facility environment, as a Nursing Director of multiple, complex nursing departments.Minimum of two (2) years previous leadership or administrative experience required.Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.Proven leadership ability and facility operational expertise.Ability to serve as role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing.An individual able to effectively and efficiently organize patient care promoting optimal outcomes, patient safety, and patient, physician and employee satisfaction.An individual with proven success recruiting, retaining and developing staff. Someone effective in mentoring and developing staff, encouraging professional growth and achievement.Takes the lead in complying with regulatory standards, rules and laws.Duties
Oversee and manage all nursing operations within the organization.Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.Monitor and evaluate nursing staff performance, providing feedback and guidance as needed.Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including Medicare and HIPAA.Manage the budget for nursing services, including staffing, equipment, and supplies.Stay current on advancements in nursing practices and technology.Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the nursing department.Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Master's degree preferred).Valid nursing license in the state of {location}.Proven experience in nursing administration or nurse management role.Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.In-depth knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and acute care practices.Familiarity with Medicare regulations and compliance requirements.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.Experience working in a nursing home or long-term care facility is a plus.Please note that this position requires a high level of responsibility and leadership within the healthcare organization.
