Position Summary:The Senior Engineer, Oracle Applications and Database Administration is responsible for managing all aspects of applications and database functions to meet the support requirements of Oracle applications (including EBS). The position will help evolve both operational and technology strategy as it relates to database management and working closely with the central technology organization. Position will establish and utilize effective policies and procedures for the definition, management, protection, and efficient utilization of systems, data, and databases. This includes running scripts, installation, migration, monitoring, backup and recovery, tuning of database and underlying OS, helping to resolve complex client-related problems, and database related work orders in a timely manner.Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:Overall responsibility for all aspects of Oracle DBA and Oracle Application administration including configuration, product upgrades, capacity planning, backup and recovery.Management of third-party contract DBAs for both database and applications.Serve as technical expert and lead, Database Administrator for Oracle core databases supporting non E-Business Suite applications.Primary technical expert for Oracle database and Oracle E-business suite management optimization including performance tuning, query optimization and supportability.DBA support for Oracle iStore supporting both B2B and B2C selling models.DBA support for the Business Intelligence team and applications including Informatica and Noetix views.Overall accountability for Oracle performance tuning & troubleshooting including leading and coordinating troubleshooting efforts with IT teams as needed.Provide DBA support and leadership for Oracle development team(s).Responsible for overall Oracle DB and OCI security including evaluating patching requests, communicating constraints, risks, issues and timelines for deployment.Collaborate with development team peers to initiate and execute Oracle database and application updates.Design, build and lead Oracle purge and archive initiatives and maintain going forward.Develop and maintain Oracle cyber resilience capability including backup and recovery procedures.Streamline cloning or similar activities to build/refresh test environments.Support and enforce change management including maintenance across multiple environments, code promotion and deploying approved patches.Support IT security Audit Reporting and provide input and recommendations as required.Develop SLAs and provide KPI reporting data for Oracle environments.Provide production and operational support including pro-active database monitoring, issue resolution and on call duties.Serve as the primary lead Oracle Application DBA, tasked with successfully recovering systems from Disaster for Deployed systems.Manage and work through Oracle’s (Service Requests) SR escalation process, applying software patches and upgrading the Oracle Applications environments.Re-structure and maintain Oracle infrastructure to provide best performance for the organization while balancing ongoing costs.Management of Oracle licensing - Provide mentoring of DBA team members.Knowledge and Skills Requirements:Expert level knowledge of Oracle Database Administration and Security Management.Expert level knowledge of installation, configuration, and system administration of Oracle E-Business Server.Experience with Linux System Administration.Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills – verbal and written.Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.Experienced programming skills for database management and general software is a plus.Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred OR equivalent combination of education and experience.7+ years of experience in database design, administration, or maintenance.5+ years management experience overseeing a DBA team.7+ years of Oracle E-Business application DBA on multiple instances.7+ years of experience on Linux in RHEL or OEL including yum and ksplice patching.2+ years of experience on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure a plus.Expertise in major versions of technology stack including Database, iAS, Forms, Reports, PL/SQL, Java, and WebLogic.Hands-on operational expertise as an Oracle DBA, with technology including RAC, SSO, Active Data Guard, and Backup/Recovery.Expertise with Oracle EBS, including full life-cycle implementation experience, configuration and administration of the application.Expertise in performance tuning across the entire stack.Knowledge of Oracle maintenance/patching mechanics and EBS architecture.Shell scripting skills is a plus.Experience in Oracle ZFS storage and Oracle backup technologies.Microsoft SQL management experience a plus.Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control is a plus.Work Environment / Physical Requirements:Office environment, heavy computer use.Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.Must be able to work extended hours as needed.
