The Housing Authority of Florence is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups. This position, under the direction of the Executive Director, is responsible for the overall design, construction, and renovation of properties managed by the Housing Authority, including new construction, modernization work, Maintenance Department oversight, and Capital Fund Grants. The Director of Facilities Management is a senior executive-level position that exhibits positive leadership and high ethical standards. Responsibilities include program administration, regulatory policy interpretation and compliance, staff supervision, development of policies and procedures, HUD requirements, management of Capital Fund budgets, Physical Needs assessments (PNA), Energy Audits, Utility Allowance Consumptions, property insurance claims, limited ADA Coordinator assistance, contract administration, and procurement.

Minimum Requirements:

Advanced coursework in drafting, construction, budgeting, and construction field trades supplemented by a minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of experience in building trades work, including administrative capacity, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Extensive senior-level supervision and administration experience is preferred.

Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, models, materials, methods, and tools involved in construction and/or repair of structures.

Architectural, mechanical, and computer-assisted drafting skills with specification writing and material take-off experience.

Knowledge of relevant Public Housing/HUD policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable building codes.

Good oral and written communication skills; strong computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office).

Valid SC Driver’s License.
