Position Summary Information
Responsibilities
Effectively implement project through supervision of administrative/programmatic aspects;
Coordinate hiring, training, and evaluation of project staff and student peer mentors;
Supervise delivery, evaluation, and reporting of services to ensure compliance with federal regulations and progress in reaching project’s goals and objectives;
Communicate with campus departments to ensure referrals and coordination of services;
Promote curriculum and/or policy changes needed to serve target populations;
Create avenues to promote the project; including website, printed materials, and presentations to faculty, staff, and student groups during summer freshmen and transfer orientation, new faculty/staff orientation, and departmental meetings;
Work with institutional research and the project evaluator to track student progress;
Monitor and approve fiscal records in accordance with approved budget;
Work with Financial Aid to monitor need-based financial assistance provided to students;
Any other duties as assigned related to student success and Destination Graduation.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in the field of Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Educational Administration, or related field;
Strong commitment and understanding of diverse populations;
Experience in supervising staff and students;
Experience in gathering/analyzing data related to academic needs and education;
Formal training in improving persistence rates for the target population;
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an educational setting;
Experience in academic planning;
Prior experience in designing/writing a grant proposal similar to a project;
Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing/implementing a similar project;
Experience in working with academic/career coaching for at-risk students, grants’ management/implementation, event planning;
Experience in higher education preferred;
Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel;
Experience with Banner and social media preferred;
Demonstrated record of strong leadership, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a changing, evolving department;
Integrity and commitment to developing and maintaining the highest academic standards and working with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff;
Plan and budget time wisely, be detail-oriented and motivated to take initiative;
Knowledge of test-taking strategies, time management, and study techniques;
Must be a United States citizen or have legal authorization to work in the United States.
SalaryCommensurate with experience, qualifications, and university’s resources.
Minimum Qualifications
