Role Responsibilities

TCCI is looking to grow our Global Quality organization. In support of our growth and new market opportunities, the Company is seeking to hire a a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the design, development, and manufacturing of mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical engineering, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record in project management.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers. Provide guidance, support, and technical expertise to ensure the team meets project objectives and deadlines.

Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical engineering projects. Coordinate resources, monitor progress, and manage budgets to achieve project goals.

Design and Development: Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, components, and products from concept to production. Ensure designs meet technical requirements, industry standards, and customer specifications.

Technical Expertise: Provide technical leadership and expertise in areas such as CAD modeling, structural analysis, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science. Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and product managers to integrate mechanical designs with overall product requirements and schedules.

Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure products meet performance, reliability, and safety standards. Conduct design reviews, testing, and validation activities as necessary.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and innovation within the mechanical engineering team. Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and product performance.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, codes, and standards applicable to mechanical engineering and product development.

Key Qualifications

10+ years experience in the automotive or commercial vehicle development process

10+ years experience supporting external customers

Knowledge and familiarity with APQP, DFMEA, DVP

Knowledge of TS16949 quality standard

CAD software and drawing experience

Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of electric or hybrid electric vehicle drive systems and applications

Experience with HVAC or refrigerant systems

Knowledge of Volkswagen VDA 6.3 quality standard

Experience with compressors or expanders

Certified Six Sigma Black Belt

Education

Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Technical Systems Management, or equivalent is required; masters degree in business or a technical discipline is preferred.
