New Shepard is a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Kármán line – the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers and specialists, you will support the design, development, and test of fluid systems for the New Shepard human spaceflight vehicle. You will participate in the entire design cycle of fluid subsystems, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, structural analysis, development testing, and qualification. You will generate 3-D models, component drawings, assembly drawings, and interface control documents. You will perform assembly and test of development and flight hardware including planning, execution, data reduction and analysis. Finally, you will develop component specifications, manage suppliers, and provide manufacturing and production support.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldAt least 2+ years of aerospace industry experience or internship experience in relevant industriesBasic proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo or Pro/E preferred)Experience in structural analysis including hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS preferred)Solid understanding of common aerospace materials, surface treatments, and fastenersAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumPreferred Qualifications:Experience with pressurized cryogenic fluid systems, valves, manifolds, fittings, tubing, quick disconnects and sealsExperience with thermodynamics, fluid flow, or heat transfer analysisExperience with safety assessment and operation of pressurized test hardwareExperience with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5)Compensation Range for WA applicants:
