The

Assistant Director, Regional Development

is a key part of the Foundation's Leadership Annual Giving strategy that is part of the 2030 Campaign. This position will focus on donor solicitations and engagement opportunities with a focus on unrestricted support for the Naval Academy and the Alumni Association & Foundation. The role will closely partner with colleagues across the organization to support regional development efforts, including Annual Giving, Advancement Services, and Donor Relations.

This position is based in historic Annapolis

at our current offices located next to the beautiful grounds of the U.S. Naval Academy.

competitive salary , commensurate with experience, and may be eligible for an annual performance-based bonus. We offer

The position is part of a passionate and energetic team, all of whom are driven to advance our mission as well as their own professional and personal growth. This position reports to the

Managing Director, Regional Development

and works closely with a team of approximately three Regional Directors of Development, supported by the Administrative Coordinator, Regional Development.

EXPECTATIONS

Build and manage a portfolio

of approximately 125 - 150 prospective and current leadership giving donors capable of making gifts in the 5- and low 6-figure range in support of the Naval Academy and donors' own philanthropic goals.

Implement

donor engagement and communications strategies in key campaign regions to identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective donors.

Commitment to support team goals

and meet individual annual goals for dollars raised and corresponding activity.

Work strategically

with Regional Directors of Development and other key staff to strengthen relationships in assigned territories.

Integrate into a team culture that emphasizes excellence, lifelong learning, and a

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Exceptional written

and verbal communication skills.

Dedication to growth and professional development with an openness to coaching and mentoring.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

3 to 5 years development (i.e. non-profit fundraising) experience.

Highly capable in Microsoft Office products and telecommunications software.

Aptitude for complex fundraising or sales database systems.

Some overnight travel required ; a willingness to be on the road approximately 10 to 20 nights per year.

Willingness to attend evening and weekend events at the Naval Academy.

Perform or assist other duties as assigned.

This position is based in Annapolis and is not eligible for telecommuting; flexible work arrangements are subject to discretion of individual supervisors.
