By leveraging its core competencies, particularly in drilling, engineering, automation, data science and manufacturing, Nabors aims to innovate the future of energy and enable the transition to a lower carbon world.JOB SUMMARYThe Director of Equipment Reliability and Field Support is responsible for leading our Maintenance System and site-based Field Support team, which consists of a Maintenance Manager, District Maintenance Managers, and Business Analysts. The primary responsibility is to lead a large maintenance team that maximizes equipment uptime and executes equipment maintenance and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.The successful candidate will be a highly experienced subject matter expert in Maintenance, workplace safety, and data-driven management and leadership. A background in drilling equipment/systems or heavy machinery is a plus. The candidate must be a self-starter, possessing the ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks simultaneously, as well as be able to influence and develop relationships at all organizational levels. Moreover, this individual will need to be adept at providing technical leadership and mentoring to a Maintenance team of at least 125 people.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide leadership, mentor, and manage District Maintenance Managers across Nabors Drilling Locations in L48.Develop Maintenance Department business plans and provide guidance and direction for the successful implementation of those plans.Develop and implement Reliability plans that support increasing uptime and reducing/manage maintenance costs.Drive maintenance Best Practices: Innovate, document, improve work methods, standardize, provide a safe work environment and require safe work practices, train, commission equipment, collect, measure, and analyze key performance indicators to improve processes and improve equipment reliability.Offer guidance to senior leadership on maintenance and equipment end of life (EOL) issues using ROI and other analytical techniques.Provide insight for budget development and execution, and capital planning.Help manage vendor support and equipment relationships to maximize economies of scale.Provide monitoring, auditing, and enforcement of maintenance execution, safe work practices, and rig audits, field maintenance training, and CAMS program across the network.Develop and manage budget and contract documents including RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing.Recruit, interview, and hire bar raising talent in the Maintenance Managers and District Maintenance Manager roles.Help create a world-class Maintenance organization.Supervise the Maintenance excellence team, using a data-driven approach to improve equipment reliability.Review downtime reports and data to identify continuous improvement possibilities, including efficiency and costs.Provide guidance to supply chain on equipment parts management in district warehouse and technician trucks.Ensure continuous improvement of the company’s maintenance processes, standards, and procedures through the identification of deviations and facilitate corrective and preventive actions, as necessary.Participate with the Technical Support Department in the planning and evaluation of major maintenance work/overhaul.Coordinate input from maintenance specialists, field drilling personnel, and third technicians.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLSBachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.15+ years of experience in maintenance and asset management with a proven record of project success.Experience with drilling equipment operation, selection, evaluation, installation, and commissioning.Experience with preventive maintenance systems, procedures, and strategies.Knowledgeable in resource management.Experience with installation, start-up, and upgrades of systems.A leader in both technical and management processes.Ability to elicit the best from the team and create a good working environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSGraduate Degree in Business Management (MBA).Experience with data analytics.BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIESStrong leadership and analytical skills.Ability to set clear and deliverable goals with demonstrated tenacity, commitment to delivery, and accountability for results.Proficient in risk management practices, strategic planning/scheduling, resource allocation, and data analysis and reporting.Operations/maintenance leadership, technical support/process reliability, procedural development, and solution implementation.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONSPosition may require periods of extended travel to domestic or international rig locations equating to approximately 25% of time worked.Nabors is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants and prohibiting discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, religion, age, color, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
