We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Associate to join a leading offshore law firm in the Cayman Islands. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial services regulatory and compliance matters, with at least 8 years' post-qualification experience. Previous offshore / Cayman experience is ideal but not essential.
Hiring Criteria:
First-class academic background and admitted to practice in a recognised Commonwealth jurisdiction
At least 8 years' relevant post-qualification experience, ideally gained from a leading law firm or top four accountancy firm
Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills, with attention to detail and professionalism
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative and flexible approach
Excellent client service skills, with ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
Advise clients on regulatory matters such as AML/CFT, beneficial ownership, and data protection
Liaise with regulatory authorities and conduct research and analysis to develop policy and legislation
Work with a client base comprising blue-chip domestic and international clients, particularly in the investment, banking, and fiduciary sectors
Provide guidance on regulatory compliance and risk management, including conducting regulatory audits and risk assessments
Advisein relation to the regulation of Crypto and Fintech Offerings
Collaborate with other teams to provide comprehensive legal and regulatory advice to clients
Stay up-to-date with developments in regulatory law and policy, and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
