$112,000 - $167,000 per yearAbout the Role:Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Director to serve as the chief fiscal officer and contract administrator. This critical leadership position involves managing financial records, overseeing accounting functions, and administering contracts. The Finance Director will play a key role in advising the leadership team on budgetary matters, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and preparing essential financial reports. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial stability and growth of a well-established organization.Primary Responsibilities:Staff Management:Supervise and manage finance department staff, including work assignment, performance evaluations, and policy enforcementProvide necessary training and ensure a safe working environmentMake recommendations regarding hiring, terminations, and disciplinary actionsAccounting Oversight:Oversee all accounting functions, including the administration of processes, procedures, systems, and standardsEnsure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulationsFinancial Reporting:Review and audit internal financial reports, general ledger entries, and related documentsIdentify, research, and resolve financial discrepancies, ensuring timely report submissionsBudget Management:Develop, submit, and manage the annual budgetEvaluate revenue records and prepare accurate budget forecastsAnnual Reporting and Audit Preparation:Prepare annual comprehensive financial reports (ACFR) and other required financial documentationRespond to auditor inquiries and address any identified issuesTax and Asset Management:Maintain precise records of taxes, assessments, and all funds owed to the organizationManage coordination with the County Auditor and the organization’s bond counselOversee the maintenance of asset records, including vehicles, real estate, and infrastructureQualifications:Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or EconomicsAt least 10 years of administrative accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in government accountingCertifications/Licenses:Valid Ohio Driver’s License or IDPreferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in the State of OhioKnowledge of:Managerial principles and financial management practicesBudgeting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) guidelinesInternal financial controls and relevant laws and regulationsAutomated financial systems and financial report preparationSkills in:Monitoring and evaluating employee performance effectivelyManaging financial operations and driving procedural improvementsPreparing and analyzing detailed financial statements and reportsOrganizing and presenting complex financial data clearlyApplying federal, state, and local laws and regulations effectivelyCommunicating clearly and building strong interpersonal relationshipsHow to Apply:Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply promptly.
