Director of Business Development – Space

Location:

Longmont, Colorado

This role is accountable for leading and executing strategy, building a team, and managing the full capture cycle for Vitesse Systems’ space applications. This role will be a key contributor to generating growth in our space business.

This role will report into the Longmont, Colorado branch, though may be located in a major metropolitan area. Up to 50% travel may be required.

Success Looks Like:

In the first six months:

Establish and grow strong partnership with the GM to understand the current book of business, customer base, relationships, and organizational vision.

Gain an in-depth understanding of technical capabilities and applications.

Grasp the current opportunities, pipeline, and strategy.

Lead capture strategy for key opportunities.

In the first 12 months:

Collaborate with internal and external technical leaders on R&D.

Strengthening and establishing customer relationships and engagement, resulting in deeper customer exposure.

Develop strategic business development vision, strategy, and execution plan.

1 Year and Beyond:

Full command over the market, including where the next growth and expansion opportunities exist.

Lead and align people and performance with strategy.

Accountable for near- and long-term strategy, captures, growth, and customer relationship management.

What You’ll Bring (Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

Technical Aptitude

Deep understanding of space markets and environments.

Deep understanding of antenna systems and RF payload.

Relationship Management

Proven track record of delivering remarkable sales growth.

Current or existing relationships with traditional and non-traditional space suppliers.

Experience working with SDA and NRO payloads.

Your Experience (Minimum Qualifications):

BS in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related.

Minimum of 10 years of direct work within the space marketspace.

Minimum of 5 years in strategic business development with a track record of successful captures within the space market.

Minimum 2 years in a leadership role.

Existing or past Secret Clearance or Top Secret Clearance preferred.

Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance required.

Must provide proof of US Citizenship or Permanent Residency to comply with ITAR/EAR requirements.

Ability to pass a drug screen per Vitesse Systems’ drug testing policy.

Ability to pass a criminal background check per Vitesse Systems’ policy.

The manufacturing facility may expose workers to loud noises, chemicals, and other occupational hazards; personal protective equipment may be provided by The Company and at request.

Job Information:This is a full-time, permanent position. This position is eligible for the employer-sponsored benefits listed under "Vitesse Systems is Proud to Offer." This position is considered exempt (paid on a salaried basis and ineligible for overtime pay).

Pay range: Annualized base salary of

$170,000-$215,000

based on qualifications and experience. Sales incentive plan eligible.
