Job SummaryLeads and directs all Donor Engagement and Stewardship activities for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement that properly conveys our appreciation to our donors for their support. This position directly manages staff and works collaboratively with the entire Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement team as well as Deans, Directors and Designees across the University and Health System Enterprise to ensure high standards of stewardship excellence are achieved.

ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Leads, directs, and plans for donor engagement and stewardship events, including an annual cumulative giving event and individual donor recognition events.

Directs and manages the Gift Agreement process in collaboration with the VP for Foundations.

Leads a comprehensive process to create quality annual endowment reports.

Reviews and recommends updated content for Donor Engagement and Stewardship website.

Collaborates with Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement operations to ensure best practices in the gift acknowledgement process.

Responsible for maintaining the Policies and Procedures library for all facets of Donor Engagement and Stewardship.

Works with Deans and MGOs on implementing and continuous improvement of scholarship award and recognition process.

Serves as AU's donor relations expert by staying current on donor relations trends.

Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of three years of experience in higher education or non-profit organization, specifically, experience stewarding private philanthropic gifts, or seven or more years of experience/training in fundraising, sales, marketing or similar.

Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree from an accredited college or university and five or more years major gift fundraising experience in higher education or non-profit organization.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of standard event management tasks and resources.

Experience with databases (especially Raiser's Edge) and internet searches.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal/written communication skills, attention to detail and analytical abilities.

Ability to multi-task, think creatively and handle a heavy workload.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

Shift/Salary/BenefitsShift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of the normal business hours may be required).

Minimum Salary: $75,300; Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate.
