Charlotte, North Carolina, United StatesRole OverviewThe Senior Director of Security Operations is responsible for leading and managing the organization's security operations center (SOC) and incident response team. This role oversees all aspects of cybersecurity monitoring, threat detection, incident response, security operations, and business resiliency to protect the organization's systems, data, and assets. A key responsibility is building and operating a world-class cyber fusion center that enables rapid, coordinated incident response across the enterprise. This role will report to the CISO.What you’ll do:Establish a fully integrated cyber fusion center combining security operations, threat intelligence, incident response, security engineering, and business resiliency. Responsible for the development and updating of a 5 year Security Operations road-map tied to company policies, current and emerging security frameworks, legal and regulatory requirements.Develop and implement strategies to continuously improve security operations, reduce mean time to incident detection and response, and enhance business resiliency.Oversee the investigation and resolution of large, complex security incidents and breaches across the organization while maintaining business continuity.Enable rapid, coordinated incident response across business lines including fraud, physical security, business resiliency, legal, and HR through the cyber fusion center.Implement integrated playbooks and response plans spanning multiple incident types and business functions.Develop, implement and oversee red/purple/blue teaming and understand how threat lifecycle management creates continuous improvement across enterprise security.Establish streamlined communication and collaboration workflows among cross-functional teams involved in incident response.Capture and analyze lessons learned to drive continuous improvement of enterprise-wide incident response processes.Establish and maintain relationships with public sector contacts, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies for cyber threat information sharing.Manage the security operations budget and ensure efficient utilization of resources.Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team of security analysts, incident responders, security engineers, and business resiliency professionals.Implement processes, tools, and technologies to enhance the organization's security posture, operational capabilities, and business resiliency.Provide regular reports and briefings to executive leadership on security operations activities, metrics, and business resiliency initiatives.Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, best practices, and business resiliency strategies.What we’re looking for:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; master's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.15+ years of experience in cybersecurity and business resiliency, with significant leadership experience in security operations, incident response, and resilience planning.Proven expertise in building and operating cyber fusion centers for coordinated, cross-functional incident response through physical security, fraud, HR, legal, IT and Business Resiliency.Ideal candidate has contributed to the Information security industry as a thought leader through public speaking as a subject matter expert and/or industry frameworks like NIST, ISO, PCI or OWASP, written whitepapers on a particular security subject, etc.Experience developing strategies to leverage GenAI for automating tasks, threat detection, incident response and threat defense.Extensive experience responding to and managing large, complex security incidents while maintaining critical business operations across multiple business lines.Established relationships and contacts with public sector agencies, law enforcement, and intelligence communities.Strong technical background with expertise in security tools, technologies, operational processes, and business resiliency frameworks.Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and crisis management skills.We would love to see:Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CBCP, or GIAC are highly desirable.About AvidXchangeAvidXchange is a leading provider of accounts payable (“AP”) automation software and payment solutions for middle-market businesses and their suppliers.
