40 hours, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with some early morning, evening, and weekend hours as needed to meet the needs of the organization. Non-Essential position in the event of a weather or other declared emergency.PAYS:
$69,932 annually DOELOCATION:
444 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA and other Pine Street Inn locations as needed. This position requires on-site presence and the ability to travel to all PSI Housing and Shelter properties.SUMMARY OF POSITION:Pine Street Inn (PSI) partners with homeless individuals to help them move from the streets and shelter into permanent housing and assists formerly homeless individuals in retaining housing. We provide street outreach, emergency services, supportive housing, job training and connections to employment. We tirelessly advocate for collaborative solutions to end homelessness.The Program Training Manager will support PSI’s Programs and Operations divisions and will be primarily responsible for leading and developing internal resources to help employees improve and deliver upon our commitment to serve our guests and community. In this role, the position will partner with department subject matter experts to create, develop, implement, and facilitate department specific training and development programs for PSI employees. The Program Training Manager will be a creative person who enjoys teaching and creating training tools and guides to help PSI staff understand our mission, policies, and procedures in order to best help our clients. The Program Training Manager will work across multiple departments with learners at all levels, and will be skilled at making training accessible to all PSI staff. Utilizing a flexible approach and willing to adapt to changing needs and feedback from staff over time, the Program Training Manager will ensure that PSI employees are well equipped to meet the needs of our vulnerable population.EDUCATION/TRAINING:REQUIRED:Ability to travel within metropolitan Boston area for PSI site visits, special events, and other meetings or trainings as assignedBachelor’s Degree or 3 years of relevant training experience3-5 years’ experience administering, developing and presenting employee-focused trainings for medium to large size organizations of 700+ employees.Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and re-establish priorities as neededAdvanced at using Microsoft Office programsExperience developing web-based trainingsPREFERRED:Knowledge of operations in a shelter and housing environmentExemplary customer service skillsAble to work independently with excellent time management skillsAdvanced training in human services workPrevious experience working with a Housing First/Stabilization modelExperience working with the homeless populationKnowledge of local care-giving and advocacy resources for people experiencing: substance abuse and dependence, mental illness, trauma histories, head injury, medical illness, physical disabilities, relationship violence, criminal and civil justice system involvementKNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:REQUIRED:Must have a passion for training and developing employees through learning advancement initiativesMust be a quick learnerExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create oral, written, and video presentation materials, training manuals, checklists, and other job aidesAbility to develop and mentor othersProblem-solving skillsPlanning skillsStrong presentation skillsAbility to work effectively with all members across the organization
