Job Summary

Kairos Power is seeking a Systems Integration, Project Engineer with a strong technical background who can support integration of equipment skids for Kairos Power Fluoride Salt-Cooled High Temperature Reactor technology. You will work in a small, highly empowered team where every team member is directly responsible for the success of the program, by ensuring collaboration and coordination occurs in the design, manufacturing, and operations of equipment and systems.

ResponsibilitiesThis role will be dynamic and will require you to coordinate work and lean into developing solutions across various stakeholders (other engineers, designers, and technicians) for complex issues impacting project objectives/milestonesEliminate roadblocks across teams within Kairos Power by increasing transparency of engineering information by being able to quickly learn technical information and independent quick decision making to rapidly implement practical solutionsSupport efforts to close design and operational tradeoffs and coordinate project reviews (as appropriate)Maintain excellent communication with teams and project lead(s) of status and issuesInteract with internal/external parties on equipment designs or fabrication of componentsSupport the development of systems engineering design best practices, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives such as system requirements and plans for verificationOther duties as assignedQualifications

Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical, or other related engineering discipline7+ year of engineering integration experience with a mixed in hardware operations, engineering design, engineering testing, systems integration, process design, etc.Demonstrated ability of applying engineering knowledge to deliver results while being able to thrive in an environment with evolving requirementsStrong interpersonal skills and able to be independent, resourceful, and proactive in the face of the lack of information or unknownsDesire and ability to function in a fast-paced small company environment while wearing multiple hatsDemonstrated ability to work as part of a team on problems as well as lead/coordinate the timely resolution of issues of cross functional teamsExperience in personally working through aspects of detailed design, procurement activities, testing/operations, and manufacturing/constructionExperience with working with design and delivery of complex and multi-disciplinary system assembliesExcellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skillsWorking knowledge of Process Design, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and multisystem power or industrial plant operations is desiredAbility to work with highly collaborative teamAbility to solve problems quickly and efficientlyPrioritizes and ensures safety of one self and othersAbility to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledgeAbility to seek different and novel ways to create efficiencies when working on problems, challenges and issuesPhysical Conditions
