About the Role

Swiss Re is seeking a candidate with a strong interest in the insurance industry & corporate finance for our P&C Reinsurance Business Development team based in Armonk NY. The primary focus of the P&C Reinsurance Business Development Associate is to perform detailed analyses on client financials and strategic needs to identify profitable business opportunities for Swiss Re to pursue.

This position requires a solid understanding of basic corporate finance, accounting, and financial analysis. You will be expected to analyse and understand different regulatory frameworks and utilize publicly available financial information, including statutory regulatory filings, and implement your findings by clearly communicating conclusions and recommended courses of action to management.

As a Business Development Associate you will participate in the development of high quality analysis and client related presentation materials including preparing financial models to illustrate how different Swiss Re products may impact a client's financial position (including projecting income statements, balance sheets, and capital structures). In addition to providing analytic and strategic support on major clients, you will also be responsible for identifying opportunities and setting strategy for a few smaller clients.

Through your interactions, you will have close collaboration with senior members of Business Development, as well as other areas within Swiss Re including Client Markets and Reinsurance Products.

About the Team

The P&C Reinsurance Business Development team is made up of nine individuals with diverse professional backgrounds including banking, actuarial sciences, finance, and insurance, located across five offices (Armonk, Beijing, Mexico City, Sydney, and Zurich). Although experience levels vary, Business Development tends to be a dynamic group with most professionals having less than 5 years in their role.

For Armonk, the base salary for this role is $70,000. Candidates with advanced degrees may be eligible for a higher base compensation. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only, and does not include short-and long-term incentives or other benefits offered.
