I. DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

Job Description Summary:

The Department of Prevention and Community Health in the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University is recruiting a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator, PATHS. This position will support a randomized controlled trial of an online intervention to support parents of adolescent gay/bisexual boys in communicating with their sons more effectively about sexuality and HIV. We are enrolling 350 ethnically diverse parent-adolescent dyads into the trial and following them over time to observe intervention effects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manages IRB process (submission, communication, amendments, etc.).
  • Assists in setting up and monitoring 3 subcontracts with partner universities; collaborates with the technology team at Northwestern which handles the technical aspects of the intervention.
  • Works with the advertising consulting firm to design, implement, monitor, and evaluate the online advertising strategy, and manages the social media advertising accounts.
  • Helps to reach recruitment and retention goals and monitors progress toward those goals.
  • Interacts with ethnically diverse sexual minority adolescents and their parents in a culturally competent manner in order to screen participants into the study, follow up with them to maintain engagement and conduct condom skills assessments.
  • Uses REDCap system to monitor participant progress through the study, and ensure participants meet study milestones.
  • Provides overall research support, including monitoring study budget, assists with data management and analysis, conducts literature reviews, assists with manuscript preparation, assists with grant writing, assists in preparing and submitting reports to the funder, attends and contributes ideas to team meetings, support for the clinical trial, assists in study instrument design.
  • Supervises 3-4 hourly student RAs working on the study, with the guidance of the PI.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS and 2 years of experience in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Certification preferred.

Hiring Range

$43,888.00 - $67,889.82
