The Critical Care Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in a variety of critical care settings. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care. Responsibilities include monitoring, assessment, vital sign monitoring, ventilator management, medication administration, intravenous insertion and infusion, central line care, catheters, and maintenance of a running record of the patient's status. The Critical Care RN must be prepared at all times to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other lifesaving measures for the patients in their care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient careAssesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's conditionCollects, documents, analyzes, and interprets data and other information from healthcare team membersCommunicates nursing interventions, expected outcomes and the time frames for expected completion to other members of the hospital health care teamFunctions as a resource to the health care team members in planning for patient's dischargeDocuments the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventionsProvides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environmentInitiates and evaluates patient and/or family educationCompares expected and actual outcomes of care and identifies deviation from the plan of careAdheres to facility/client policies, procedures and protocols at all timesPerforms other duties as assigned/necessaryMinimum Requirements:

Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practicesOne year of critical care experience is preferredMinimum of one year acute or critical care experience preferredCurrent BLS card; current ACLS/PALS card (per facility requirement)Complies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicableTB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageICU RN - Nights -

40 MILE RADIUS RULE - NO LOCAL CANDIDATES

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Start: 10/7 - bi-weekly orientation

Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)

Location:- Evansville, IN

Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7

On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A

Weekend/Holiday Requirement: every other weekend/every other holiday rotation

Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.

Minimum Experience: Must have 1 year of ICU experience(prefer 2 years). 1 travel assignment required. Trauma level 1 or 2 required.

Skillset: Med/Surg ICU, Neuro ICU, stepdown, general ICU,

Unit Information (Bed size, Case type, Patient ratio): Level II Trauma Facility, Teaching Facility, Acute Care, Ratios - 1: 2 (3 max - usually with lower acuity/transfer pt if necessary)

Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates

Scrubs: Navy blue scrubs

Covid-19 Vaccine Not Required - Subject to change

GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed
