FCG has an account executive position open on our PR team for a self-starter, tried and true media relations specialist. The ideal candidate can not only FLOW in a fast-paced, family-oriented, and collaborative professional environment, but can also be the FLOW!

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has an entrepreneurial mindset, loves relationship-building with the media, can deliver media results, stays current on trends and events in the media relations space, Has an interest in developing media strategies, is familiar with media platforms (Meltwater, Cision, Muckrack, etc.) and wants to have a positive impact in multicultural communities.

Developing pitch angles and exhausting every possible story idea
Cultivating strong relationships with national media
Landing high-quality media placements
Writing compelling new releases, op-eds, blog posts, award entries and case studies
Developing campaign presentations and media recap reports
Researching influencers who align with client brands
Cultivating influencer relationships
Developing POVs that resolve client issues
Monitoring media outlets for coverage of client news and competitor developments
Tracking and maintaining media placements
Composing media plans and contributing to plan development processes
Demonstrating knowledge of top-tier media pitching, placements, and tour scheduling. Pitching to clients’ top-tier and other media
Participating in and providing support for client special media events (red carpets, press briefings, etc.)
Proofreading and editing client related documents, as needed
Job Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in the PR/integrated marketing industry. Multicultural agency experience is a plus.
Hispanic marketing experience is a plus
Fluent Spanish is a plus (oral and written communications)
Proven ability to deliver media results and build relationships
Health care and/or lifestyle industry experience is preferred
Experience developing multi-layered campaigns with a multicultural focus
Strong project management and organization skills
Able to thrive and FLOW in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Experience with developing detailed media lists, coverage reports and recaps
Ability to gain a full understanding of relevant aspects of our clients’ businesses and generate fresh ideas to solve their business challenges
Preferred Skills:
Public Relations:
Experience working with general interest, dailies and TV media outlets. Excellent relationship builder who can build a rapport with top media that is well respected. Ability to showcase brand messages, creative assets, etc., via print, digital and OOH, strong research skills
Interpersonal Skills:
People friendly, self-starter, strong organizational skills, confident and persuasive presentation skills, experience working under tight deadlines and high level of professionalism
Written Skills:
Great storyteller with excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail, organizational and multi-tasking skills and ability to be proactive
