Gemma Services strives to create a community that promotes recovery from trauma for the children and families that we serve.PositionReporting to and collaborating with the Chief Development and Communications Officer, the Associate Director of Development is integral to maintaining and growing a sustainable annual giving program and actively supporting any fundraising campaign initiatives or special projects. The Assoc. Director will help develop and will implement fundraising strategies to secure and grow philanthropic support from charitable donors of various types (individuals, corporate, etc.). The Assoc. Director will work closely with other members of the Development team, senior leaders, and volunteers, and will play a critical role in identifying, cultivating, personally soliciting, and stewarding a diverse base of donors and prospects, and will be responsible for a caseload of annual and mid-level supporters. Additionally, the Assoc. Director will coordinate the Annual Giving direct mail program and be a key participant in special event fundraising. The Development Department is responsible for securing increasing levels of support from individual, corporate, congregational, organizational, and foundation sources to support Gemma’s annual budget and special projects.Hybrid with several in-office days per week in Plymouth Meeting PA. Must be able to commute to Plymouth Meeting PA for in-office days.Skill(s):The Assoc. Director will have excellent interpersonal, relationship-building skills, and judgment.Be able to clearly and compellingly articulate, verbally and in writing, the needs of the population whom Gemma assists, and the case for fundraising support.Have demonstrated skills in direct mail, annual, and individual and corporate donor-centered fundraising and a commitment to the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ code of ethics.Be highly organized with strong project management skills and PC proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.Experience using donor management systems (Raiser’s Edge preferred).Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree required.A minimum of five (5) years' professional experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a range of fundraising tactics and activities from annual giving to personal solicitationA record of success building donor relationships and securing increasing levels of charitable support for a nonprofit mission.Benefits include:3 health insurance plans, 2 dental plans, educational assistance, a retirement plan with a match, fully paid life, short and long-term disability, generous PTO, personal holidays, and self-care activities for our employees.Join a collaborative team devoted to supporting the mission of Gemma Services to transform hope into action for children, youth, and families.
