Position Summary :

Kemper is adding to our Material Damage teams; this will be remote position. The Expert Auto Field Appraiser will be acting as a liaison between the home office and field operations within the assigned territory. Assist in bridging the gap on corporate processes, assist local management in training, validate quality by way of desk and field reinspection's, conduct calibration events and assist in data validation for targeted focus reviews. Position Responsibilities:

Conduct desk and field reinspection's on work product from the field staff, including damage estimates, total losses, image quality and required documentation. Reinspection results will be used to evaluate material damage quality, aptitude of technical skills, fraud awareness and ensure the adherence to company material damage standards along with state requirements.MDS reinspection outcomes will be used for reporting of noted positive trends in material damage along with opportunity areas.Attention to detail is a must with logical decision making on variances that need to be captured and/or for training purposes only. A high degree of material damage experience is required.Requires organizational skills to maximize travel time is a must to include best travel methods, using optional travel times, completed pre-auditing data, preset of the weeks schedule and fiduciary responsibility with regards to expense reporting.Assist the MDS Manager around performance metrics with a key focus on training, calibration, and ride alongs of the local field staff within the territory assigned.Assist as needed on files where additional MDS technical aptitude is requested to provide a positive outcome. This will be via in-person inspection or though the desk application.Ability to nurture partnerships with the field offices in the assigned territory. This includes being a material damage resource for the desk team and total loss units.Collaborate with any special projects assigned by the material damage department or MDS Manager.Operate a company vehicle within assigned territory, work in potentially adverse weather conditions, and the ability to inspect all parts of the vehicle, including the interior and undercarriage.Drive/sit for extended periods of time.Must be able to reach, handle, squat, bend, climb kneel as needed to assess vehicle damage.Exposed to a body shop environment, salvage yards and the outdoors up to 50% of the time working.Requires overnight travel within assigned territory and for special assignments.Work hours will vary based on current workload and projects.Position Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required.Minimum of five (5) years of physical damage experience required.Prior field experience as an Appraiser or Reinspector is a plus.Demonstrated expertise in all areas of material damage including the latest in repair techniques for all types of vehicles and materials pertaining to electrical, mechanical, vehicle design and construction.In-depth knowledge of the total loss process from estimates, vehicle evaluations and salvage.Continual and ongoing ICAR trainingExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Prioritization, planning, and organizational skills required.Must always have and maintain a valid driver's license.Has access to and maintains confidential information regarding the work of others.Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively mentor and train others.Current experience with CCC estimating and total loss is a plus.This is a fully remote position working in the Sacramento, CA area.

The range for this position is Hiring Range $53,600.00 to $93,700.00. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors.
