Position Overview:
This is a hybrid position and is required to work onsite in Sacramento Tuesday and Wednesday.
Provides support in making strategic data-related decisions by analyzing, manipulating, tracking, internally managing and reporting data from diverse internal and external sources. Requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to perform exploration and experimentation, designing and building prototypes and best practices for our applications. Brings insight and change to how we approach customers, patients, business leaders and partners to solve the most complex problems with analytics. Provides a wide-range of analytical results and have the ability to communicate these informed conclusions and recommendations across an organization's leadership structure.
• Develop and implement Data Science / AI solutions.
• Set enterprise-wide standards and processes for DS / Applied AI.
• Create and maintain end-to-end applied data science / artificial intelligence (including GenAI) solution architectures, tools, and infrastructure, to improve healthcare delivery and patient care outcomes.
• Use advanced mathematical, linguistic, geographic information systems and machine learning techniques to create and test DS models.
• Fine tune, validate, test, and apply foundational GenAI models.
• Developing distribution and integration mechanisms for model insights and outputs (APIs, reports, and dashboards) for stakeholders and downstream software applications.
• Mentor and develop other data scientists across the organization.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Master's: Computer Science, Statistics, Medical Informatics, Mathematics, or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
8 years recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Experience designing, implementing, and testing automated data analysis systems.
Proven ability to rationalize disparate data sources and the ability to intuit the insight from within a dataset.
Understanding and implementation of predictive / analytical / statistical modeling techniques, theories, principles, and practices.
Familiarity and experience with data preparation and processing – such as assessment of data quality, new variable creation/selection, etc.
able to interact with technical experts and leaders at all levels within the organization.
Self-starter, able to independently identify and complete critical tasks with minimal supervision, complex data, and dynamic goals.
Verbal and written communication skills are an absolute requirement.
Demonstrated ability to multitask and deliver on multiple projects concurrently.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to mentor other data scientists working on common projects.
Knowledge of healthcare clinical care and business processes.

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
