We are currently seeking a Network Security Specialist to join our team in Newport News, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).
We are looking for a dedicated Network Specialist to join our growing onsite delivery team in Newport News. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining our cyber security tools, researching vulnerabilities, risks, and events, and supporting multiple projects across the customer portfolio as part of a hybrid agile delivery team
Key Responsibilities:
Design, Configure, and Manage network utilizing CISCO routers, switches, firewalls, ISE/PRIME, and TACLANESProvide requirements gathering and gap analysis functions to propose technical and business solutionAuthor and track project management schedule for taskResearch and identify potential vulnerabilities and risks within our systems, and propose mitigation strategies.Respond to security incidents and conduct root cause analysis.Participate in agile teams to support the delivery of multiple projects across the customer portfolio.Work closely with other IT teams to ensure that all IT systems are secure and protected against threats.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest cyber threats, attack strategies, and mitigation techniques.Familiarity with RMF 800-53 and DISA STIGs.Provide regular reports on security status and incidents.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experienceMinimum 5 years of experience in managing and operating security tools such as CISCO routers/switches/firewalls, ISE/PRIME, TACLANESSecurity+ and CCNA certifications requiredCurrent Secret clearance requiredPreferred Qualifications:
Experience standing up or maintaining DREN or SDREN node networks.Project Management CertificateAdditional Networking or Security certifications such as CCNP and CASPFamiliarity with RMF 800-53 and DISA STIGsExcellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issuesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills
