Under the direction of the Area Manager, the Estimator will prepare cost estimates for heavy civil projects in the private, municipal, state, or federal sectors. Additionally, the Estimator will support operations staff with preparation of change orders, subcontracts, and material agreements and cost analysis.
Role and Responsibilities:
Prepares project estimatesInterprets plans and specificationsConducts pre-estimate job site reviewsReferences and updates historical market and competitor research data for use in estimate preparationSubmits cost estimates to federal, state, municipal and private entities by utilizing software such as AASHTOWare and Bid Express Expedite BidAssemble purchase order and subcontractor documentsAttends project setup meetingsCollaborates with Construction Project Managers to conduct cost reviews and prepare change ordersPerforms other related duties as required and assignedThe Benefits:

The Candidate:
Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction ManagementProject management experience in heavy civil construction a plusPrevious heavy civil, commercial and/or industrial estimating experience is a plusMust be self-motivated with the ability to work individually on multiple projects with varying deadlines or in a team environment on large projectsValid Driver's License and considered insurable by insurance standardsPreferred Skills:
At least 5 years of experience is preferredProficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointProficient in Bluebeam and AGTEK or similar softwareHCSS Software knowledge of HeavyBid and HeavyJobStrong technical writing skills to develop content for proposals, estimates and contractsAbility to communicate to others to convey information effectively, either by telephone, in written form, email or in person with the ability to conduct presentations, coordinate site visits and lead owner meetingsWhy Should You Apply?
