The product team currently consists of 10 high performing product managers & product management leaders who are highly engaged in the work we do and care deeply about each other and our mission to empower people to make smarter energy decisions through simplicity, transparency, and choice.

The Director/Senior Director of Product Management - Shopper (B2C) Role

As the Director/Senior Director of Product Management for the Shopper Side of our marketplace, you will play a pivotal role in realizing EnergySage's vision of becoming the premier destination for whole home electrification, exponentially growing revenue by defining and building products that will transform the way consumers and other property owners find contractors and solutions to adopt renewable energy through electrification. Reporting directly to the VP of Product Management, and leading a high performing team of product managers, you will own the Shopper roadmap, be instrumental in shaping our Product strategy, and empower teams to deliver products and features that drive exponential business growth in ways that delight our customers.

What You'll Do:

Develop the vision, strategy & roadmap to make EnergySage the premier destination for consumers seeking whole home electrification and energy management solutions, in alignment with the EnergySage product and company vision and enabled by a deep understanding of your customers, stakeholder needs and know the relevant business & industry landscape.

Drive impact through your team and their cross functional partners in design and engineering, executing & delivering the roadmap to drive significant and sustainable business growth.

Enable, facilitate and engage in continuous product discovery–talk to customers, dig into the data, hold stakeholder workshops–and help your team do the same, constantly deepening understanding of your customers, problem space and the relevant business, industry landscape.

Operate with speed to impact in mind and prioritizing and pivoting when necessary to maximize that impact.

Lead and mentor your team effectively specifying features and critically assessing the efficacy of the specification process, making changes at the team level to increase efficiency, and at times, modeling best practices yourself.

Leverage data through our various self-service tools and in partnership with Business Intelligence to identify opportunities, make informed product and prioritization decisions and measure and evaluate the success of your roadmap. Foster a data-driven culture across your team.

Work with stakeholders at all levels of the company, including the Executive Leadership Team, collaborating, gathering inputs, and building alignment around your plans.

Influence product management best practices at the company, with the aim of making the entire Product group more effective.

What You'll Need:

8+ years of experience in B2C product management roles, eComm or Marketplace experience required.

4+ years of experience managing teams of 3+ high-performing product managers of varying levels of experience, with demonstrated strengths in mentoring and fostering career growth.

Strong business acumen with a proven ability to identify and assess market opportunities, and to orchestrate a product portfolio that drives direct profitability.

Demonstrated success in influencing strategic plans across teams, departments, and organizational levels, extending beyond your direct reporting line.

Willingness to roll up sleeves and be hands-on when needed, acting as a thought partner to level up your team's thinking while empowering them to take ownership and drive outcomes independently.

Bias for action and impact, with a demonstrated ability to move quickly toward outcomes and iterate proactively.

Strong storytelling skills and/or the ability to interpret, articulate and set context at the right altitude to empower your team.

Strong customer empathy, knowledge of UX best practices and familiarity with user research methodologies.

Fluency with Data. Ability to use data not only to set and communicate quarterly goals, but also to uncover new opportunities or roadmap direction. You use data as a tool to identify and then bolster your case for investment. You effectively help your team to build up their data fluency, making them more effective decision makers and efficient communicators.

Comfort and desire to work with high complexity, and the ability to filter signal from noise to drive toward appropriate outcomes.

Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to set expectations, keep stakeholders and leadership informed, and manage progress effectively.

Ability to make impactful decisions, work with ambiguity, and be flexible and nimble.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
