The Opportunity:

As our Director Engineering, Technology Operations, reporting to Sephora’s Senior Director, Infrastructure Engineering this role provides senior leadership to drive strategic vision for Enterprise Client & IT Services Engineering teams and Corporate Desktop Support. Develop and execute new initiatives through staff to enable all Sephora employees to do their best work every day. Work collaboratively to define and execute business priorities with other functional and technology areas of Sephora and senior leaders in various global markets. The ideal candidate should be a highly qualified executive with substantial experience designing, engineering, managing, supporting and continuously improving Technology Operations owned Platforms, Services, and Applications as well as Desktop Support. S/he will have relevant management experience within a large, complex managed technology services organization and be responsible for all aspects of Technical Design, Engineering, Scalability, Supportability, and Security of our Technology Operations solutions in addition to Level 3 support and Desktop Support Operations in partnership with stakeholders and direct reports.

Your responsibilities include:

Identify, define, and continuously improve the functionality, stability, scalability, and security of our Technology Operations Platforms and Services. Implement and maintain a process structure aligned to global standards that meets business needs while balancing compliance with risk and cost.

Provide hands-on Technical Expertise, guidance, and mentorship to the Technologies, Platforms, and Engineers in your area of responsibility.

Collaborate with key executives and technology stakeholders to create and execute technology roadmap, balancing competing interests and needs across the organization to arrive at a clear vision.

Manage geographically distributed teams to deliver products, platforms, and services with high quality and within the stipulated budget.

Influence and inform resources and partners whom you do not directly manage and communicate effectively to get alignment on requirements and decisions.

Directly manage a talented team of Client Engineers, IT Services Engineers, and Desktop Support Analysts.

Own continual improvement and ongoing process maturity of your Engineering deliverables through regular reviews of the business needs, process, tools, trend analysis, metrics reporting, and regular engagement with stakeholders.

Work with product owners, stakeholders, and the Engineering teams to prioritize and plan improvements to our tools while balancing technical enhancements, tech debt management, automation opportunities, and new feature development.

Escalation point for Technology Operations Engineering and Corporate Desktop issues.

Develop KPIs, metrics, and reporting to communicate status of Engineering delivery life cycle, overall systems health, stability, compliance, service levels, and product backlogs for internal stakeholders and executives.

Supervisory duties for Technology Operations Engineering Teams and Corporate Desktop Support Services. Includes Technical Leadership/guidance, assigning and reviewing work regularly, setting and adjusting priorities, and evaluating work performance.

15+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience with 10+ years managing globally distributed high performing teams.

10+ years hands-on Engineering and expert level understanding within the following technologies:

Collaboration Tools: Microsoft 365 Platform & Apps: Teams, Office, SharePoint, LucidCharts.

Cloud and Security: Azure AD, Active Directory, Group Policy.

OS and Application Management: Microsoft Configuration Manager, Workspace One, JAMF, Druva, BIT9, OS Management, Application Management (Windows/macOS/iOS/Android).

Automation and Scripting: PowerShell, Python.

Operations Applications: ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence.

5+ years as a people leader in Senior Manager role (or above) in Enterprise / Infrastructure Engineering role.

Must have managed other people leaders in previous roles.

Nimble skillset and flexible with regards to changing priorities & business needs.

Strong track record of hiring stellar engineers and contributing to their career growth.

Demonstrated ability to develop strong alliances with those outside of your immediate organization.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical staff.

Flexibility in work schedule, off-hours for project implementation, major incidents, and on call rotational support (24x7).
